Well that’s simple. Leave and start a new lobbies titled “new drivers only” of course your going to get good guys they are just going to put pace you but you’ll be in control of who stays then.
I never had the experience that you had that affected my next race though. If I was unhappy with that group I left. No big deal. Then I picked the next one instead of the hoppers that may very well throw you right back into the same lobby you just left. As of now there’s no control.
Looking for a group and CPL’s are not the same. I don’t want to join a club. I want to race random people using the criteria I set and have the ability to kick insubordinate players at will. I don’t want to have to go to the home screen to find the group I wish to play with. I want to do this all in game. They have this option in many other xbox games just not this one, which is sad.
The short answer is they will most likely never come back as turn 10 analysed data from forza 4 and there was a massive drop if casual racers/wreakers because everyone was kicking the idiots and they lost a heap of money from dlcs etc and 99% of the network are wreakers or casual player they can’t race and crash into others.
You guys don’t understand how businesses work and how businesses decisions are made.
It’s all about data and figures.
Surely they could keep the casual hoppers for the wreckers/nubes, and also have public lobbies for the serious racers… best of both worlds. It’s bizarre that turn 10 decided to remove them yet Polyphony decided to keep them. They are just as many idiots racing/wrecking on the PS4…
I don’t believe any data was Involved in this decision. That would be easy for them to answer then. The only answer we received was from an interview with dan greenwalt saying they were not returning and then he went on and on about the Microsoft clubs yada yada. It appears they were using forza 7 as a platform to attempt a jump on clubs by making racers and car clubs merge to their new system. Problem is their system sucks and it worked more conveniently the way it was before with CPL.
It was a matter of “data”. Pretty sure they talked about that prior to the release of FM5. The CPL’s in FM4 were vastly under utilized. Sure, there may have been 30-40 lobbies at any given time, but the majority of them were X car on X track under X conditions, and the majority of those lobbies only had a few players in them. Overall there were far more players in the hoppers. The numbers simply didn’t justify the time, effort, and server space to keep them.
I also chuckle at the statement “everybody wants them back”. Who is “everybody”? I’m on these forums daily and I see at most a dozen people asking for them. That hardly qualifies as “everybody”. I don’t want them back, and I’m pretty sure I’m part of “everybody”.
The return of cpls is according to t10 by far the most requested feature, I forget how they worded it exactly but it was something along the lines of if they made a top 10 requested features list it would be places 1 thru 10… sounds like a lot of requests to me but apparently you’re limited personal experience says otherwise soooo yeah our bad you’re clearly right
My limited personal experience? And how would you know that, you don’t know me. Aside from playing the game and being a member on this forum for the last 12 years, I’m also heavily involved with this game and T10. Remember what they say about assuming…
It’s a pity that someone with your views is allegedly heavily involved with T10, as you are unwilling to understand why the serious racing community want public hosted/configurable lobbies. Also T10 should see it as a money maker by selling the public lobby hosting option as a dlc as there is demand for it.
Well you’re going against what t10 said specifically soooo maybe ask around?
Edit here’s some light reading for you. The first post is all that really matters… was from a mod so I was slightly off but the source is still credible. Like I said most requested feature by far. Is he lying or are you stating your opinion as fact?
Also limited personal experience as in you dont have the numbers, you have what you remember. All you have is your personal experience and to what you’ve heard which again without the numbers may or may not be factual. It is infact limited to what you have seen or heard. Everyone without the actual facts has limited personal experience. Example: your limited experience says “I’ve only seen at most a dozen people ask for cpls” yet it is infact by far and away the most requested feature. Yet you state your opinion in form of fact even thought it is completely wrong, how long you’ve been playing and how important you think you are doesnt make you any less wrong.
Are you an employee of t10? If not how important you think you are is irrelevant. If so then please find the data and show me where I’m wrong.
You don’t want them back? you’re okay with the state of the hoppers? no weather effects for many of them and bashers everywhere? 2 laps of Sebring in b class?? 2!!! and out lap and a hot lap and you’re okay with that?? you’re okay with the vote to kick system being used .00000001% of the time? you’re okay with some tracks not even coming up in some hoppers? Do you not like freedom? America?
No, I don’t want them back. I didn’t like them in FM2 and I didn’t like them in FM4. To me, they were useless. Am I OK with the current state of the hoppers? Again, no. There are issues, some of which you have pointed out. T10 is working to address a lot of these issues. Granted, it’s taking much longer than anyone would like, but they are working on it. I much rather they take their time and get it right, rather than rushing out patches that only screw everything else up and doesn’t fix the problems.
The hoppers have been around since Forza 3 if I recall correctly. They literally have not changed up until recent. You have been waiting all this time and have not had better experience in the CPL’s when they were available? I find that hard to believe. I could believe it if you never gave them a chance. Or I could believe it if you were one of those AWD and AWD drive swap only drivers from FORZA 3, then that would make sense why you didn’t mind because your driving LB cars the entire time but I’m trying to give you the benefit of doubt in thinking that your looking for a vast racing experience. We are all entitled to opinions and if you still think the hoppers were better than CPL’s then I may call you and some others posting here crazy but deeply what I and the other poster are secretly trying to do is enlighten you to what CPL’s could bring back to this game. I think it would make this game complete and I would literally pee my pants in joy and probably take a day off work just to enjoy the greatness of what use to be.
So in short I think much of what needs to be corrected in this game can be done through the implication of CPL’s back to the series, I believe a lot of time and resources are being wasted trying to fix the hoppers when I think a proper host can regulate what is wrong with this game, or even something like bringing a ranking system back that not only ranks you by wins but by contact with other cars and time spent off track while accelerating. I just am dissappointed with what they are doing so far. I want to be impressed but I am not currently.
I guess I should offer a little background so we understand each other better. After all, we don’t know each other, just two names on a forum. Yes, the hoppers appeared in FM3, and they were garbage. And your right, they haven’t improved much. While I did do a few AWD swaps here and there, I never ever drove LB cars, I only drive cars I like. I have never cared about the LB’s, still don’t. Not even two months into the game I was fed up and determined to find something better. I found this forum, and through here discovered organized league racing. I joined a small league and never looked back. I never again played in a public hopper. When my friends and I weren’t doing league races, we were racing together in private lobbies. I moved from that league over to Virtual Motorsports, which at that time was the place to be. When they shut down I moved to TORA where I remain, and they are probably the biggest league in Forza currently. I also race with my team, EZT. When FM4 came out, I checked out the hoppers out of curiosity, but nothing had changed. I did check out the CPL’s, but after wading through 15 lobbies of two people running the ring in a certain car, I was all set, not what I was looking for. I never did a single public race in FM6, other than the occasional Ghost leagues when they featured a car I liked. I have actually spent more time in the public lobbies in FM7 only because I was invited to join the race marshal team, which I accepted. I did so because, like all of you, I love this game and wanted to try and help make it better, regardless of how small my effort may seem.
To sum up, no, I haven’t been waiting for anything. I have easily done a 1000 or better online races, and my online experiences have been extremely rewarding, far more than anything a public lobby or a CPL could offer. I’m sure all of you posting here would be delighted to see them and feel that the game is better for it, and that’s fair, but me personally, they can’t possibly offer me anything.
