Appreciate with the visual but the physics still needs some work...forza 7

I’ve been a fan of Forza for a very long time even though I don’t have an Xbox I always look at Forza games as a rivals with Gran Turismo. since gt sport took forever to come out I got the Xbox One. I have played every Forza since Forza 5 but the more Forza I play the more I’m bored of the series… There are many problems of the forza engine itself, from visual to the physics, they all need some changes. As you guys probably know project cars in GT Sport are about to come out really really soon and their physics car movement are way more advanced than what Forza have currently.

First runner-up again will be the physics. The physics in the forza engine especially on the suspension and the car structure side are not detail enough. Some car suspension travel and other form of dumps are unnoticeable in many Forza game. A car would react to many different situation due to the road condition. Since Forza Horizon 3 is base on City roads, it is very important to know that City roads are never perfect, suspension travel physics can change the way all the car drives. For example if you look at project cars 2 the suspension travel is really obvious. Many people disbelieve a car would move that much, but believe it or not car suspension does move a lot. And uncareful player could spin out their car instantly if they let their car run over a deep bump in a really fast speed. But in Forza this is never an issue because all the car does not absorb any bumps

Second is the upgrade system. The upgrade system in Forza is really really simple. Simple is a good thing but it still need more detail. Since Forza Horizon 3 is the latest game I will be giving example based on this game. In real life if you want to switch a car engine to a V8 you will need many many components to come with that engine in order for your engine to cool off in a sustained temperature. Which comes to the problem of the forza series. The number system in Forza are completely messed up, a player could switch that car to a V8 engine without losing too much class ranking, and also switching their car to all wheel drive. A Datsun 2000 should not be able to go 210 miles per hour in the straight-line b-class race and dominate in the racetrack or in Forza Horizon. There is an obvious physics and class ranking system issue.

And also why can I lower my tire sizes is it that difficult?
This is other issues I have with the game but I’m not going to be explain that too much (Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon)

  1. suspension physics
  2. Batter roads design
  3. lower wheel sizes
  4. I4, I5, I6, v6 engine
  5. No barricades in turns (for online)
  6. Bring (3-2-1-Go) or (red-green) or (girl in the middle) back…
  7. Car structure physics (project cars)
  8. Car class ranking system should change
  9. Parts Upgrade number rework
  10. Need detailer Engine sound

More to come

First off I don’t think it’s wise to compare Project Cars 2 and Forza Horizon 3 together when analysing the suspension. Forza Horizon 3 is an arcade game, Project Cars 2 is a SIM.

Also once again I don’t know why on a Forza 7 discussion section of the forum, you are bringing up problems with the PI in Forza Horizon 3? Wouldn’t it be more relatable and accurate to bring up problems in the PI in Forza 6 that you want to be solved as Forza 7 is likely to.have a similar PI system and structure to Forza 6 not Horizon 3. Also why did you not criticise anything about Forza 6 but again chose to criticise Forza Horizon 3 and give examples of Forza Horizon 3 which is a very different game to what Forza 7 will be?

Going on to you’re points…

  1. The suspension could be improved but it’s pretty good right now, though cars such as F1, IndyCar and open-wheel cars in general could be improved.

  2. What do you mean by better road design? Is this to do with Forza’s fictional tracks? If not then what? Is it to do with Forza Horizon 3’s road design? If so, it’s not really relevant here. All tracks apart from fiction tracks are laser scanned.

  3. Lower tire sizes I don’t really understand the need for. Though I would like there to be consistent tire sizes, for example, I’d prefer it to go like this…
    185->195->205->215->225->235->245->255->265
Instead of what it is now which is more like this…
185->205->215->235->255->265 (this is too inconsistent imo) and P.S this doesn’t really have much to do with physics.

  4. Are they just engine swaps you want in the game? If so that doesn’t have much to do with the physics.

  5. Barricades though aesthetically they’re not pleasing, are good at stopping corner cutting on some tracks.

  6. 3,2,1 go is already in FM7

  7. Cars structure physics? Whay do you mean? This is very vague.

  8. I agree the car class ranking system should change
I’d personally like every car class to be divided in half giving more car classes which would solve a lot of problems and give closer racing. Again norhing really to do with physics though.

  9. The PI gain for certain parts should be reworked, I agree. Imo AWD is quite nerfed in FM6 for the most part. Not that related to physics either.

  10. We all want this but once again this is nothing to do with physics.

Again the biggest problem I have is the game engine itself and not the game. The physics in Forza 6 isn’t as great as other games out there. Even if u say Horizon is an arcade why would there be a need for tuning? Many player feel the potential for Forza to succeed but when the other competitors have better graphics and physics? I can’t just sit back and not let turn 10 do something. Forza horizon have a great opportunity to be having its own category a (real street racing open world game) and the success is from the engine behind forza 4. Base on what i see in the trailer in Forza 7 it doesn’t look like they change a lot of stuff other than visual (still bad in certain lighting) and i really want this game to be running against some big competitors base on project cars and Gran Turismo. Unless turn 10 have some feature in forza 7 that is going to catch my eye, if not i’m just going to get it in discount and get project cars 2 instead (if it’s good, looks promising tho)

They’re probably gonna kick all this stuff to the wishlist but yeah I feel you here, the PI system has to be fixed or at the very least do more to separate and balance cars by division. We had a pretty strong thread about balancing the GT race cars that are way out of wack. Suspension physics get a little better every year but I wouldn’t expect miracles.

-k

I would just expect 4k graphics and costumes…
