It’s been at least a couple of weeks and not been able to connect to online racing or leagues tried disconnecting everything but no joy the Internet is working fine and the X box is connected but it still won’t let me do any online racing. Anyone have any idea what’s going on? Or any one else having problems like this? It’s getting pretty annoying
I’m connected fine
My son has the same problem with several games. I can log in and play MP, on any game, on our xBox1. He cannot play MP. He can play with friends though.
I belive his issue is a scrambled up profile. We tried deleting his account from our Xbox, and re-DL’ing it, to no avail. He went online, Xbox Live help, and it appears his account has been goofed up somehow.
I will call them and have them fix it.
I’d suggest you do the same thing.
Did you try a hard reset yet. It usually solves my issues.
I do believe he said he’d disconnected all connections, which I have to say is the basis of a hard reset.
So I’d say yes, he has based on what he’s said.

This may or may not help. If I cannot connect (it is only Forza 6 that will give me problems, no other gaming issues) I go into network settings and delete the alternate MAC address, restart, and it gets me online every time.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. A million times thank you. I am no amateur IT person, quite the opposite. This thought had never crossed my mind. I could play everything, but my son could not play matchmaking in Overwatch, Forza, or Destiny. I cleared the Alternate MAC Address, and it worked perfectly. I had been on the phone with my Xbox live and they were all stumped.
Thank you so so much, worked perfectly. Back racing online at last
What that does, is clear cache. I have not found another way to clear cache on the xbox1.
The only answers you ever get on these forums is do a hard reset or call Xbox. Don’t know why Xbox or Turn 10 can’t tell us about this very simple fix but I am glad that I could help.
That’s because most of the posts are just “I can’t race online” with no real information needed to try and solve the problem, like what ISP they have, if ports are forwarded correctly, up/down and latency numbers, country or region they’re from.
If people would give more info they’d get more than just the hard reset replies
The reason(s) for not being able to connect are legio and so are the solutions to each of those possible causes. So listing a solution when the cause or at least the symptoms are not known will be a very long list and might even cause further issues. It’s like a surgeon do a lung transplant because you struggle to breath, only to find out later that it was your nose that was blocked. The more detail you give the better are the chances that the problem get’s solved and is not dependant on a shot (or more) in the dark.
By the way, I had the same problem as some of these posters and the Mac thing did not change anything. I suspect only because my problem / cause was not the same as theirs.
You have brought up some very solid points mate. They are points that show the whole PC issue. That being, the fact that almost all gaming PC (plus general PC’s)?are a collection of a huge variety of components. And as every gamers idea of ‘the perfect taking monster’ differs vastly.
So one ends up with a huge set of variables that are NOT common between even two gamers. Each different component means that the machine reacts and operates either hugely different, or even slightly different.
And as you rightly point out, what fixes even s feral machines, is not going to be a fix for every machine.
Which is why the support teams often deal with a customer individually rather than in a common forum where the discussion ends up being something along the lines of a huge peeing contest where everyone is claiming that theirs is the best machine, that their idea is THE idea that should work etc etc etc…
The whole issue gets blown win out of context. That’s primarily why businesses like Turn 10 and even MS tends to deal with ppl personally through PMs. They aren’t trying to cover something up or doing something untoward etc. they are simply being cautious and prudent.
So while the Xbox is common and universal, which sets gaming rigs apart from consoles, and thus given a basically common working platform. What differed in this regard is, the variables of everyone’s broadband, or internet connection, their latency issues, their download speeds and upload speeds. Their settings/configurations of their ISP provider etc etc.
So while the console has a common platform, the users have vastly different speeds, and settings. Which U.S. Why Turn 10 deals with Xbox users via PM.
So both types of gaming offer different sets of variables, so being specific at the onset helps a support member, or a fellow gamer to understand the OPs issues and offer a very direct ‘fix’.
I hope that sort of makes sense??

Really? I do not have a background or even a lot of knowledge when it comes to IT issues but I seemed to have helped solve a few problems for frustrated gamers with no other information other than “I can’t race online” which obviously is enough info to help solve a problem.
Again, XBox and Turn10 should be able to give us this very basic information to help people use their console and game. Deleting the alternate MAC address is not secret information or trade secrets, just a simple solution to a simple problem.
I think you missed the point, I never said your info didn’t help fix a problem some people were having.
The point is if you make a generic post expect a generic answer, that’s why a hard reset is always the first suggestion you will get and in a lot of cases will solve most issues.
Imagine going to the doctor and asking them help you, but you don’t give them any idea of what’s ailing you. How are they supposed to help you?
The more info you can put into your help threads the easier it will be for others to nail down a solution.

This is quite true, and in fact, in the Support Forums, when a Turn 10 support team member does answer, their very first answer, irrespective of the poor information they may have been given, is to do a “proper” Hard Reset.
And they then either link you to a forum that explains the proper, fully detailed explanation of a proper hard reset.
Then they usually end it by saying that if THAT doesn’t fix the issue, then please let them know.
After that, they generally deal with the poster via PM so as not to lengthen a thread, or take it off track etc.
So initially, they offer the most commonly known ‘fix’ that usually fixes 70-75% of most issues. Then they offer a second option should that not work.
How is that not giving full support?
I’ve had several issues dealt with by both the support team, and by the Xbox support team via their dedicated website and forums. Which are usually supplied when you request help.
I even got my Doms a Dodge Charger by that method. While others kept posting in the thread asking for help, when it was given ( a link supplied to get assistance) they just kept ignoring it and continued to post asking for help…
See the irony there. Many just want to post and not take onboard any help that’s given… Which is very confusing, especially when you think that they have posted in a support forum asking for help… Scratches head… Oh well. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink, as they say.
