I checked all the board and i didnt notice any news about drifting in fm7? we will have just " 4 " rivals and nothing else like in fm6?
The only confirmed information about Drifting so far is that there are no Drift events in he Single Player Campaign.

well, drifting have never been in the campaign … but on rivals, leaderboards ( long time ago ) and multiplayer! what about drift score , etc
hopefully drifting doesn’t become a thing from a ranked perspective. Forza Horizon 3 put far too much of an emphasis on drifting, but it was passable since it is an open world racer. Motorsport on the other hand should be about racing.

I think this argument may be the reason why drifting is not so prevalent as it was on Forza 3 and 4. Forza distinguished itself from other car games by adding drifting, drag racing and a playground mode as well, which ensured that a larger community was targeted. I am sure they are missing out on the majority of players that enjoyed that differentiation. Honestly, I do not see why you would mind having those elements in the game. It is not like you cannot race anymore nor has drifting ever been the key aspect of Forza.
Drifting brought a community together thanks to individual and club rivalry, as well as public user created lobbies. Since that is all being left out, Forza 8 hopefully seizes the opportunity to have a larger player base and bring back the good old days.
That is your opinion but there is a lot of people that got the game for drifting. Drifting is becoming a bigger sport and more people are interested in it, the drift championships are on tracks. Forza horizon 3 a lot of people loved the drifting and it has opened a lot of people eyes into another aspect for racing games

indeed, plus people that only have started playing forza recently doenst know how it was from forza1 … drifting have always been a big part in this series , i agree that score etc isnt the best but they implemented it and was a nice challeng until they removed the leaderboard and leaved only 4/5 rivals … before we had the drifting leaderboard for every track and on freeplay we did our " drift attack " to improve our skills and challenging by drifting point! of course on multiplayer in private lobbies we still play in the usual way! at least it could be good to know if TURN10 care of that big part of users
p.s. i never liked horizon series, too arcade for my taste!
I think what he meant is that people shouldn’t be winning actual races via getting points with drifting in FM, not necessarily that there shouldn’t be drifting events.
I’m with you NitroDrift. I’ve played since FM4 and hoped they would expand on drift rivals or drift leaderboard, but instead have moved away from it it seems.
Losing Toyota was bad enough. I’ll probably pass on this one.
What I find very strange is the lack of a drift lobby for multiplayer, I was looking foreward to drift in online but I have yet to do so. The way things are currently there is very little variety in MP, I don’t mind racing the classie muscle homologation class but there is little for me to do with the cars I want to drive.
I bought this game for the main reason and thats because of the good game mechanic drifting and handling. I like to go on with a regular race every now and then but mostly i play this game for drifting and it sucks that there is no multiplayer option for it, yet…
maybe it will come along side with the leagues but we have yet to find out… its bad though, that forza have not mentioned anything about it.
It will be a huge shame if they exclude online drifting in this game, then i will feel sorry i even bought it.
tbh if they dont fix the actual situation i will never buy a forza8 … i bought fm7 for the widebodies and 3 old tracks that are back , but i never thought they had removed the basic things of forza motorsport series…
plus the actual " drift " rivals are a joke, you cant use your garage cars but only rent stock cars… so what’s the point to take time preparing a car for drifting if you cant even using it…

Completely agreed. I had no idea about the rivals on Forza 7, that is really taking the fun away. The happier I am that I passed on Forza 7. However, it should tell you enough that loads of people are asking for Fujimi Kaido, which used to be a proper benchmark for the drifters. Can only hope things will be different on the next one.
Me myself and a lot of people buy Forza mainly for drifting. Drifting has always been popular in the Forza Motorsport and Horizon Series.
I honestly do not understand why Fujimi Kaido isn’t in the game after so many people pleaded for it to be there. Sure, I’m glad Suzuka and Maple Valley are back, but why not Fujimi also? It can’t be a licensing issue because as far as I know it’s a fictional track. I think what it really comes down to is T10 doesn’t give a crap about its customers’ needs and doesn’t even read posts on the internet. That, or they are just lazy.
