Any guys having force feedback issue while drifting

hey there drifting community,

i’ve been drifting with a wheel since forza 2 so im no stranger to wheel drifting.

forza 5 got a bit more vague than forza 4 as to where the wheels should be as force feedback drops out and in a little. but forza 6 just killed it as when your drifting the front wheels caster a little and when transitioning or holding a drift there is no wheel position now. ie usually when drifting there is a stiff point to turn into which moves depending on angle to let you know what angle the wheels are at.

is anybody else using the tx racing wheel having the same issues?

It’s a game issue that might take a while to get fixed. Thought it was my wheel as well, but it’s the game weak feedback. I was running 540, but went down to 420 to make it feel somewhat comfortable. I just don’t get why they changed the feedback code. Lol it felt alright in FM5 and feedback was really good in FH2.

thanks for the reply bankai, at least I know other people out there feel the same thing.

I also had to go down to 420 DOR, but because I cant feel where the wheels are positioned it still sometimes snaps out of the drift.

I’m really stressing out about it as I’ve spent like £1000 over time on my set up including the playseat for the love of forza and now I cant do what I love most about forza… DRIFT!!!

I’m now worried that they wont care about the issue as the racing seems ok until you break traction which obviously you don’t want to do while racing.

After spending some time with my new Logitech G920 in FM5/FH2/FM6, I have come to the conclusion that FM6 has some insane damping on the force feedback. The wheel will rotate at 900°, but only around 90° left or right. Then it just grinds to a holt and wont rotate on its own anymore, which is no good when drifting at 900°. I tried it in FM5 and FH2 just to make sure it wasn’t the wheel, and sure enough, I can drift quite happily at 900° in both of those games. I have been drifting with 900° in Assetto Corsa since last November with my G27, so having to go to a lower DOR, it really feels foreign to me at the moment.

Had similar issues myself with FM6 but I just put it down to the fact that I had been out of action since FM3 and early FM4 days… However I continued to fiddle about with all the available settings until I was pretty happy with how it felt, here’s what I found best.

Wheel - logitech G920
Force feedback setting - 35%
Vibration setting 30%
DOR - 420

Everything above that just seems to throw me wildly out of control

Hopefully this can help some people out

Hey SX, (apexi here :stuck_out_tongue: )

My Thrustmaster TX wheel feels terrible for drifting the FFB is all over the place and it vibrates like crazy, also breaking feel to it. Had to turn it off.

Though racing is perfectly fine, I’ll be getting the 599XX wheel add-on in a couple days so I’m going to see how the vibration acts on that one.

take off the 6% grip mod that they give you in the beginning of the game and also turn off rumble.

Did this fix the problem for you? I am also experiencing this issue with my TX.
