Any details on Photo Mode Yet?

This is simply the Clincher for me.

I am up in the air about getting the game over two factors:

1- being the size of the download(s)
2- being the “Thing we don’t talk about, because hopefully they change their mind”

Those two things put me back on the fence, from where I was. I LOVE Forza. The only reason I have owned an Xbox all these years.

But I have noticed the Photo mode taking reverse strides.

Was it FM4 that had the BIG SHOT MODE? I really expected that to continue on the Xbox One, especially with the security issue cleared up, and the ability to transfer photos to a USB thumbdrive.

Other games have been taking GREAT stride forward in this aspect. Games Like Shadow Warrior 2, have a FANTASTIC set of development options. The photos I take in that game are amazing quality, as well as large enough to edit, AND use as wallpaper.

While I don’t mind the Watermarked photos that Forza does, I do mind that the watermark is so intrusive… almost to the point where every photo I take makes me feel like I am trying to Pimp Forza out, rather than show a great photo off.

If this game has an OUTSTANDING photomode, There is no fence that will keep me away.

I can get over the download times, if I know that I will be able to turn out some amazing pictures.

Help me out… I need Details

No info as of yet.

On a related note, no info on centralised Storefronts (as they functioned in Forza Horizon 3) either, which leads me to believe that it’s been cut.

Totally agree, I think a few forzatographers are on the fence at this point
Especially now after seeing PC2 photomode

I’d like to see some sort of “Big shot” feature return like FM4 and Horizon had, I pray the headlight switch is there and they haven’t messed the headlights up like FH3
But to be honest it needs to have substantially improved to come close to what others are offering now

Yeah TJ… I have been a member of FTI since… well since FTI was a thing. I have not been really active as of late, but I am kind of Legendary when it comes to Forzatography. Unfortunately, I have been too broke to contribute at all to the Forza Horizon 3 stuff, and I had to leave Forza 6 early because I sold my Xbox to eat.

Right now I have an Xbox, and Forza 6, and a PC capable of playing Forza 7.

My main concern is photo mode.

To be honest, I am sensitive to car exhaust sounds putting me to sleep, so I tend to spend more time taking photos than racing.

I guess it is like PVP in a lot of adventure games. Only I am not being rushed to do something, and I can take my photo and print it out and frame it if I like.

Forza should have at least a 4K sized screenshot, based on it using the hardware screenshots (press the Logo and then press Y) after you apply all the effects. Hopefully there is a RENDER MODE option, that lets us 2X or 4X the resolution.

For a JPEG 7,680 x 4,320 = 33 Megapixel image.

That would be AWESOME!!!

So your the guy that uses this feature. Always wondered who it was.

I seem to remember an interview with Bill where he was asked about Photomode and he did not mention any changes and that it’d remain mostly the same.

I can not find a link for the interview so take it with a grain of salt.

I guess that is what we expected anyway…no change so I won’t get my hopes up, I guess at least I’ll be able to screenshot in 4K on my one x but I can’t help but wonder what will happen with the photo comps will the 4K shots be up against the regulars

I would expect a 4K screenshot. Honestly It would be nice to have something a little better than that. Maybe PC will have extra options for screenshots.

I find the controls for the photomode to be decent, but the options for developing the photos, are archaic in comparison to what other games have been doing. Forza is a SHOWCASE game, Photomode should be a top of the list option.

Considering how many people are photographers, looking for a Rainy day option, Forza could easily move Xbox One X consoles and the $100 version of the game, for less than the cost of a low end lens and a throwaway DSLR.

I find that practicing with Forza, actually improves technique, for things like posing, and understanding shutter speed, and depth of field.

While I don’t expect Turn10 to team up with Canon or Nikon, though it would probably be extremely profitable, I do expect at least an improvement with each game… and for the most part photomode has been reliable at best.

I still remember blogging about the BIG SHOTS on my photo forums, and the number of people that bought the game after seeing my 7 image HDR photos of the Honda Prelude, and the photos that I took, that ended up all over the internet as part of the advertising for the game, still give me hits on my Flickr.

I am not looking for a new way to get street cred, or whatever you would consider it. I am just looking for a undeniable reason that makes this game a 100% must buy for me.

Didn’t notice anything about photomode, I guess there will be no changes about it.
In my opinion, Forzas’ photomode looks not so good and not so bad but it remain unchanged since FH1 maybe eariler.Of course there are many games’ photomode better than Forza, driveclub is good (but looks so slow when moving camera). So Forzas’ photomode have a far distance from perfect, it should be improved during these years.
For me, I would like to have a better graphics of finished photo even with a long processing. UI of photomode could be more like a real camera rather than sliders.

Also if we can do this in game looks cool.

That is an impressive technical photo. If this is something we can do, Like how it was back in the day, with all the cars being fake, except the RX-7, then yeah I would expect this to be possible. This could be a homespace image.

I would love to know, since every time I bring up this topic (FM6, FH2, FM5) I NEVER get an answer.

FM5 had a broken photo mode on MANY tracks, had blue shadows, and that Escher lens bloom… Thankfully that bloom didn’t show its face in the demo, and that was the first thing I noticed.

Still, Fingers crossed for details. It’s a lot easier to sell a product to an educated consumer.
