I redeemed a review code for Forza Horizon 4 and I meant to review the PC version. Yesterday I played without problems, today, after a small patch, the game crashes after the splash screen ( it doesn’t go full screen at all ).
Any suggestions?
I unistalled and Reinstalled the game, still no luck.
I am having the same issue with my review copy. The game worked fine prior to the title update patch and it will no longer load beyond the splash screen. I’ve submitted my DXdiag and Windows Feedback hub information to support/assembly with no resolution reached yet. I wish there was some way I could go back to the previous version of the game so I could complete the review prior to embargo.
I found a way to launch the game but I don’t know if it works for you:
If I launch the game BEFORE che audio-card kicks in on Windows start the game will launch, in fact I need to reboot che PC every time I want to launch the game. After a week still no patch thou.
Hello,
For issues with crashing or launching please check out our new support pages.
Thank you
No help for me either… Also, BEWARE… After running the recommended PowerShell command, my ‘Settings’ button on the Windows Start Menu does not work… No Idea what else it broke… Now Forza support says re-install windows… This is a new PC with all updates…
How is this possible…
It’s not really asnwered since my issue was not solved and the tool into the support page is pretty useless.
I recently found a solution that might help other btw. The problem is Riva Tuner / Afterburner, I created a rule for ForzaHorizon4.exe on Riva Tuner ( just click add profile and type ForzaHorizon4.exe on the search bar then set Application Detection Level to None ).
After that the game won’t crash anymore.
I haven’t been able to start the game at all, crashing on splash screen every single time, done all the stuff they’ve suggested and even been in contact with support who ended up giving up on me
They appear to be giving up on me as well…
I honestly don’t know how a windows based development company cant get their own product to run on windows…
I’m still looking for help.
Eventually relented and spent full day on reinstalling windows (actually did OS RESET, electing to keep personal files intact) … Afterwards, i Installed Horizon 4 first… It Worked… Began reinstalling other software… So far so good… I still have several packages left to be installed… Testing horizon after each new software install… If I discover something that causes Horizon 4 to stop working, I’ll post again…
Still, I hate that I had to take this extreme measure to get a game working.
On a positive note… Horizon 4 has pretty great functionality for triple screens (reason I went to PC)… Not as good as some of the major Sims, but better than Forza Motorsports 7… So kudos for that…
