pc, xbox one or xbox one x??

Gaming PC
Yes Im Not sure why it does it i have a Geforde GTX 1050 TI And that’s a magnificent Graphics Card.

I have pretty much the same problem… first two days I had small 2 second freezes every now and then… from day 3 and becoming worse everyday, the lag becomes more frequent and it just lags constantly and almost makes it unplayable… I have to quit my browser, steam and anything else that is running but still it lags…

I have GTX 1070, 8GB RAM and i5-6600K CPU.
My pc is decent, but can’t run the game in any setting from low to ultra… so why is this happening?

Is your game installed on HDD or SSD drive?

No My Game is installed from Microsoft Store where you’d actually install it from

How much RAM do you have? Have you monitored memory usage? Maybe it is a memory leak. I’m not sure 8GB is enough for this game, although the min system requirements say that it is enough.
Is your system updated (windows, gfx card drivers etc)? Have you tried different nvidia grahpics drivers (sometimes older ones work better than the newer ones).
No overheating problems (CPU, GPU, HDD/SDD, MB)?

DisturbedUKR90 asked ON which kind of disk your game is installed (SSD or regular HDD), not from WHERE did you installed the game from (you can only install the game from Xbox/MS Store).

i am having the same problem right now. i have an ssd gtx980sc and 32 gb of ram and i could run fh3 on max. but on fh4 no matter my settings every now and again i get a massive lag spike.

Dude I’m sorry but I call bs on this. I have a new pc I built 2 months ago 1080ti, i5 8600k and 16gb ram and I can’t run FH3 in Max settings. So tell me how are you running it at max settings with a 980sc?

I also have a lags in horizon 4. I use xbox one s. My issue are second hang at any time of the game. I can’t say. that I can’t play, but it is very visible. I have reseted all settings in my xbox and reinstall the game. It did not help me.
In addition to say Horizon 3 does not have any lags.

But i don.t know way but forza lags a lot en i have only 23 fps on very low settings way is it like this???!!
ficks it because i know my pc can play it safe on medium!!!

This game is a crap, don’t play it until they fix it. Unfortunately they dont update it very often so far!

I have a high-end gaming PC and I experience the very same thing. Random horrendous lag spikes out of nowhere after a certain amount of time in the game. Then I either end up in the wall or in the grass. Sometimes it happens 1-3 times quickly in a row, it gets back to normal for a certain amount of time until it happens again. It seems to happen when I’m just free roaming in the world though, since I haven’t experienced anything like that during a race. I might suspect it has to do when I’m playing online though. Except from those spike lags, I get steady 60 FPS and it runs just fine on Ultra. Could it be the game that haven’t been optimized? Or some sort of network bottleneck?

same problem. if i play like 2-3 hours it start lagging and ā€œskippingā€ also sound effects make weird lags. i remember forza horizon 3 has same problems  no overheating, i7-6700K / RAM 16 / GTX 1070. game is installed on HDD but i don’t know if it is problem. if i restart game immediately then it work fine  no fix yet?

Hello, I have the same problem here, I also have a 1050ti. My game is installed on a SSD, and I always monitor my RAM and CPU usage, the usage is decent like every other fast-paced open world game for the first 2 hours, but after that the games starts dropping frames from 60FPS down to 15FPS… Even the sound goes away. I’ve done a few ā€œmethodsā€ I read here to try and fix it, but no luck.

What is your cpu/gpu usage? And how are you monitoring this?

What are your pc specs?

I was in the same boat. Lag spikes and general freakiness constantly.

I have a 144hz monitor. I had tried all variants of framerate with vsync with no improvement.

When I set the monitor to 60hz in Windows, then set the framerate to 60 in FH4, everything is far improved. Now I get an occasional hiccup, but that’s all.

Perhaps a different aspect of ā€œlagā€ time, but the menus are getting worse and worse; primarily in the Garage.

Xbox One X: Lags to show the ā€œMy Carsā€ List, major lags, sometimes ~30 seconds. Exit Garage to game, lag… ~15 – 20 seconds.

It don’t seem right, Sparky!

Same issue here. I figured it may have been a lack of RAM, so I upgraded from 8GB DDR4 to 16GB DDR4 RAM. While the game seems a little more stable now, I still get these unplayable lagspikes that either cause the game to crash or require me to restart my PC.

I feel like it is caused by lack of support for high refresh rate monitors. I’ve seen similar issues with other games that were developed console-first, like Skyrim for example. It’s one of the concessions that has been made to allow smooth (60FPS) performance with top of the line graphics on average systems. So the best workaround appears to be to lock the game at 60FPS.
