[ANSWERED] Forza 7 PC stuttering

Finally fixed the microstutter. Apparently for me it was windows related, not a Forza problem.
I was having similar problems with AC Origins.

This fixed it for me for both games:

yup… [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]. and it makes a lot of sense considering it was random. sometimes it would play real smooth and other times it was a complete stutter fest. i did some testing with emptying out the standby memory. i filled it all the way up by downloading a game on steam and then running forza. in resource monitor it showed i only had 1 or 2 mb of free memory. (for whatever reason. downloading a game makes the standby memory completely fill up.) i then started up forza with the standby memory completely filled and guess what? the typical micro stuttering every 3 or 4 seconds was there. i minimized the game and ran the empty standby memory program and checked to make sure it wiped it. i then went back into the game and the stuttering was pretty much non existent from there.

i also realized that before i knew about this issue. some of the occasions where forza ran perfectly fine was when i first started up my pc and did not do much of anything before starting forza. meaning the standby memory did not bloat up before starting forza. there is a youtube video of a guy showing how to set up a scheduled task with the program and everyone was giving him major props and calling him a god for it. and he was using pubg as an example game. so this flaw in windows extends to more then just forza. apparently even microsoft has admitted to it being flawed, but has not done anything about it. that could be the reason why turn 10 is not trying to help us fix it. because they already know the issue, but don’t want to make microsoft look bad and so they are being hush hush about it.

I already do that and it doesn’t help. The stuttering is there from the outset, either from a clean reboot or after clearing the standby list. The above is usually a solution if the stuttering occurs after playing for a while as the memory fills up.

Wow uninstalling the free version of avg fixed it for me! It used to work in the past so it confused me that I needed to get rid of it.

Hello everyone
In my case I have uninstalled avast and it worked. No more stutters in the game… It’s very very strange case beacause I have tried by disabling avast for 10 minutes but didn’t work then I would give a try uninstalling completely the avast and It worked perfectly no more fps drop. Now I’m using bitdefender and the game runs fine.

As discussed in a lot of threads before, disabling doesn’t help. I uninstalled AVG and only use Windows Defender now. Anti virus programs slow down the system anyway. Glad this works for so many. I’m not sure why it hasn’t been fixed. They fixed it once before so I’m not sure why AV programs just won’t work properly.

i think its time we just all agree to discuss a class action lawsuit over this bs. i have spent so many frustrating hours trying to fix this game over the course of almost two years now since i bought it. so i think for any of us who have spent hours and days on in trying to fix it should be paid for trying to fix their game. so i think it would fall under emotional distress and possibly free labor. its not like the developers are trying to communicate with us and help us work out a fix… they are simply saying we see you have the problem but we are just going to remain silent and watch yall find the fix for us… so yeah at this point i think we should all be getting paid for it. And no i am not joking. I am dead serious about this and think we should genuinely discuss it if they are going to continue to pretend like its not an issue or that it does not exist at all. So far the only thing i have heard from staff is we have seen a rise of this issue… but we are getting no updates on how they are supposedly fixing it… no communication from the developers discussing it with people to try to figure out what the issue is. simply finding our post about it and then marking it answered after telling us to make a support ticket. Which btw i have not heard anything back about it since i made the support ticket after posting a potential fix for it. It really seems like at this point they are clueless on why its happening or how to fix it and they are simply trying to keep it contained and watch someone else fix it and then apply the fix to everyone through updates. And that sounds like free labor to me.

Having issues with this as well. Every time i try to go to the test track i get stutters then CTD. I’ve turn off all over clocks and reinstalled and still nothing. Sometimes i can play sometimes i can’t.

3rd world countries have developed more stable games then this POS.

Figured I should add my voice here, should any of the devs read the forums…

I’ve been playing on PC since late 2018 and for the most part, I’ve had very few problems with stutters. I often see multiple frame drops during loading sequences, but this doesn’t really bother me. It’s sloppy, but has zero impact on the game.

What’s really bugging me is the way Rivals has suffered since the latest patch. This was one of my favourite aspects of the game, but now, each time a rival is beaten there are huge stutters as the next ghost is loaded - even with the ghost cars disabled.

Please fix!

Micro stutters also came back to me. Most are like said above - for example in rivals. But also during a races with AI. I really cant uderstand that after so much time form game lunch devs cant repair it…
Bad 21:9 support (menu, replays) and these stutters are bigest disadventages of the game. Thats sad becasue FM7 is solid content race arcsim but these problems kill gaming pleasure.

And make some new bugs with updates. For examples no shadows at night and rain races.

This game has been running smoothly for me for months.

Just today it started stuttering. It’s hardly playable anymore. Stutters even happen in the menus.

What on Earth could be causing this?

If only we knew.

Better yet, if only the devs knew, then maybe they could tell us, or fix it.

the amount of freezing while navigating the menu and loading times i never seen anything as worse as this in any video game that i have played… it’s like this game is a straight up console port

The latest NVIDIA driver (430.86) fixed my micro stuttering!!
Finally I can play this game…

It returned on the next day… then I found out the culprit was the FPS limiter from NVIDIA Inspector!

Now it is smooth again~ (finger crossed)

i haven’t updated my GPU drivers in 1-2 years, why ? cause you normally DON’T need to if your video card is old.
newer drivers are there to make newer cards look better, they don’t improve old cards unless there was a problem they were working on.
when i 1st started FM7 jan 2018 the game stuttered on loading & menu’s were a pain, then it got fixed months later only to reappear again.
this gets fixed & broke & fixed & broke…etc etc.
Nothing gets me MAD like i’am beating a rival & then BAM a stutter, that 1-5 seconds is Massive when trying to beat rivals.
anyhow, i will do a clean instal soon & dual boot old & new drivers to see what happens.

Just wanted to say, for some kind of reason my game fixed itself. It’s definetntly not because yours computer that it stutters, i can tell you cause it works on my dead pc that has old CPU and 8gb ram.
Yesterday i tried to play and i choosed F1 Renault from 2017. That was huge mistake, cause i had 2FPS when i was going fast. Low resolution, lowest settings. Nothing was working. Today i turned on the game and… no stutters. I drive fast, no stutters, HD resolution, no stutters and 60 FPS. I dunno what happend. Maybe some settings required restart of PC? I don’t even know. We’ll see how long it will last, but atleast you can have some kind of hope, that it will work at some point

I also meets micro stutters form time to time. And also have to mark it as total random thing. Crazy.

the problem is from windows 10 after version 1703… install version 1703 and block update is 100% PERFECT

I just recently sold my Xbox and i just got a digital copy of FM7 and i am still having the stuttering
I have a i7 4990k(not overclocked)
16 Gb ram
Gtx 980 ti

if your running uncapped framerate try to cap it at 60 or half of your monitors max (if 144 cap at 72) it might be a part of your system not really keeping up with really high frame rates resulting in a stutter now and then capping the frame rate might even it out to the point where the stutter doesn’t occur anymore (wile also providing a more consistent experience).

have a i5 4670k oc’d myself and a bunch of current games like) i can run division 2 at 72 and warframe and dota 2 at 144fps but my cpu is hit so hard by the job that i cannot even use discord it will not be able to get any cpu time (even when setting discord to high priority in task manager, cmon zen2 be good >.<).
