its not just what you want to drive thats being decided for you, its also what parts you can put on your at an arbitrary level.
maybe you pick your favorite car and want to go race in the campaign in something more meaningful than open class? NOPE!
maybe on your newly chosen favorite car you have identified a bad handling characteristic that you know how to solve by adding a particular part. NOPE!
and they said they want us to bond with our cars yet they control everything. whos doing bonding me or turn10?
and what pisses me off the most is other than the fix they put in early on to drastically reduce the xp requirements they arent saying a single thing. yet you can go out on various forums and content creators and see your not alone. it is universally hated with a few exceptions by people who like there video games to hold there hands and tell them what to do and when they can do it.

Turn10 how far will you let it fall before you address the elephant in the room?
I wouldn’t be surprised that it’s due to the overall player numbers being so low that if they had all lobbies available they’d be empty! Limiting the number of lobbies and forcing all players into just a few hoppers means they are full. Just my opinion on it but wouldn’t be surprised if this is part of the logic behind it.
It’s a combination of the very low player count and the matchmaking system needing a lot of players queued up at once for it to work. I would love to have all the classes available, but there’s not enough players to fill that many lobbies, let alone for the SBMM to work.
The obvious answer would be user-run public lobbies but T10 doesn’t seem to have any interest in that.
they must know little about MP and racing community.
they try to force people into driving racing classes the people dont want. im only enjoy class E. so there is only a 6 day window per month where i can play this game. totally stupid!
Time and car type gated content to unlock new cars kills any fun I have with the game, it’s just grinding and playing in a way I don’t enjoy or else I’m locked out from cars I like. Same complaint with Horizon too.
What extra you would get from FM2023 if it suddenly changed to “get all parts asap” vs. games that already there like FM7… you can get all things you want from that… even more cars and tracks or, I assume other games, sim racing titles, might also allow that…
My perspective to FM2023 is hope that it would offer something bit new and new game progression compared to FM7 that I have already “played”. FM has always been game, not “just” driving
Sure You don’t mind but for everyone else they are forced to sit and wait til the hoppers of their liking comes back around. Sure they can go play other games while they wait for their hoppers to come back but with the current state of the game there is little incentive to rush back to this game for only a 6 day window. FM7 left off with 32 permanent hoppers but FM currently only offers 4 with the rest in rotation for a grand total of 8.
There would be no downside to having multiple hoppers available at the same time if lobby size was prioritized(since the matchmaking rating system is useless at this point). Battlefield 2042 for example displays how many players are currently in each lobby so that mechanic exists. T10 could implement that into this game to give players an idea on the amount of full races their hopper could provide. Besides I’m sure winner of Racing game of the year would be proud to show off how many people are actually playing their fantastic product.
What is the point of having 500+ cars in the game if I can’t get on and race any one of those cars competitively online whenever I wanted. Sure T10 made a game that is accessible to visually and physically impaired ( NO SHOTS AT THEM) and kudos for that but they made it inaccessible to those that have grown with the franchise and expect the common sense basics of a competent racing game.
This isn’t an attack at you PJ I’ve been meaning to write something like this for a couple of days now but your comment triggered me lol. As someone who has been in the community for I while I hope you can see where I’m coming from
