All Chevy Super Sport cars censored

I have confirmed with someone who is playing an advance copy of the game already–all the Chevrolet SS models have had their SS nameplates and/or graphics removed.
We need to get the word out on this. Maybe if enough people complain, T10 and MS will have to take notice. Unlikely, but what else can we do? The majority of cars are not fixable with the livery editor, and 10 vehicles in total are affected, which is a large proportion of the Chevrolets in the game.

If this is an issue i will paint the badges and put them on the storefront thing.

If this is true and the emblems have been removed we definitely need a reason as to why. I for one can think of no legitimate reason to remove the badges from these Iconic Chevy vehicles.

Yes this is ludicrous. What reason would they have to remove all the SS badges? They’ve been in the past 7 Forza games. This really upsets me. First no C7 Corvette Stingray and now no SS badges on the Chevrolets. Can’t wait to hear what Turn 10 says about this. I’d Tweet Dan Greenwalt about it but I don’t have a Twitter account.

Actually there is no excuse i recall reading that T10 employ car experts to research the vehicles in the game.

All these cars were either in Forza 5 or Horizon 2 so the models were made for the Xbox One already. So Turn 10 actually had to go back and remove these “SS” badges if that is indeed the case. As someone who appreciates realism this really upsets me. After this and the wheel force feedback still being poor I’m thinking about cancelling my pre-order and waiting to hear reviews about the final game.

Could the press versions be the same ones used in the Gamescon show in Cologne? I know in Germany they are sometimes over sensitive about the use of SS. I’m really hoping the commercial release has the SS badges. It may be worth asking where the people are located who have noticed the missing SS badges in their pre-release copies of Forza 6.

.

This isn’t breaking any German laws

I’m curious to know the reasoning behind this

All I can add is at some point after Horizon 2 released, some policy changed somewhere. The Chevrolets were all intact in the base game, as they always had been in every Forza game since 2005, but when the '88 Monte Carlo SS was released as DLC a few months later, it was missing the SS graphics. And now we have this situation in Forza 6 where they are missing on every SS car.
I think we as fans deserve a legitimate explanation, although honestly I can’t come up with any scenario that would seem legitimate.

You know when people are constantly asking you how you feel about something your country and people did 76 years ago, something you had nothing to do with, it gets annoying. It’s not that we’re over sensitive, it’s just annoying. Every time I’m in Germany I get some American asking me what I think of it. We’ll never forget what happened and nor should we, it’s actually illegal in Germany to deny what happened.

But to ban the use of a car badge because of something in the history books? If that is the case then it is indeed sad. I think most Germans would disagree with that. Can’t speak for the government though..

Maybe there is some licensing issue between GM and Turn 10 on SS? Maybe GM upped the cost for using the SS logos and Turn 10 said whatever, well put the cars in without those. Or maybe GM gave some other company an exclusive on them?

Seems a google search brings up some relevant articles to suggest why this is happening (though I can’t link because of censors). Unsurprising though. Calling out political incorrectness seems to have become an obsession for people since a year or two ago.

If this is the reason, it’s a classic case of the tail wagging the dog.

If they are going to hate on an American car company, Henry Ford was the one with anti-Jewish sentiments, not Chevrolet. Of course, I am being sarcastic and all of the extra PC-ness is a bit ridiculous.

Looks like the SS is there. Anyone have a “good photo” of one without?

Huge cheers for Israel. Chevy have used the SS term for some 50 years, but only with the latest model do they have a problem with it. Best of all, its not even something they can have. . .

It’s pretty lame, but I’m not sure how much we can really blame MS or T10, because I would imagine GM has the final say about it.

If we’re looking for the true answer, we need to spam the heck out of T10 with emails asking for the reason why they made such a decision. If it’s a licensing issue, that’s fair enough because crap like that is sometimes beyond their control.

But if any of this has political correctness at the root, I think we should reconsider what political correctness. I think it needs to be politically correct to tell people who are over reacting to two letters, to just go pound sand and cry to their momma.

That is a weird thing to censor but at least they still put the cars in.

Agreed, the King Cobra which has many problems has made its way in so the rest will also be in unfortunately -__-
