Advice on playing on multiple Xboxes with one profile

We finally upgraded to an Xbox-S, and now have two places to play in our house, which the kids are happy about. But we keep having an issue where playing on one xbox, then later logging in and playing on the other (this is after shutting down the game and turning off the xbox the correct way through the UI screens on the first xbox) you lose progress. Support has told us to properly close the game or we might lose progress, but I cant figure out anything else to do about it. Just last night we lost the new Alpine car, because despite claiming it on one xbox, it didnt show up on the next one. Then we went back to the first xbox, and of course its gone there too now. How long should we wait to shut down the game (and xbox 1) before turning on and playing on xbox 2?

Are you quitting the game on the first Xbox? Like i mean closing the app down fully not just hitting the xbox button and powering down (this will still open up FH4 at the last point you quit at and effectively the game servers still think your playing). That may be it but i could be wrong. Also are they signing in with same profile etc. When the game starts up again from scratch it should resync with the server and the car should be there. I too was going to do what you have as i have several Xbox’s around the house but decided to keep games like FH4 on one Xbox as i created different profiles on the other Xbox’s and couldn’t be bothered sorting it all out (i mainly use them for streaming and Netfix and music these days).

I don’t think it matters how you shut the game down. The problem is when it syncs your local saved to the cloud save. The only work around I can think of is delete the local file before starting the game so that it’s forced to use the cloud save.
But given the broken nature of the game,I would not recommend deleting the local file unless absolutely necessary. I have both Xbox One and Series S. I only use the series S,but I’m sure if I started up the Xbox one and launched the game I would most likely lose a lot of credits and levels.

I regularly use both a XBox One X and a Series X. I also have three profiles. When I exit the game I alway Quit the App, this does mean I have to go through the long startup/sync sequence each time I enter the game. Quick Resume seem to give problems. Also, before I Quit I go to the Garage and exit it to force a Save and then wait for the little arrows , bottom right, to stop spinning before I quit. Hope this helps.

I don’t have a console, but only two PC’s that run FH4, so I can only comment on PC behaviour, but since xBox os is just different version of Windows, I’d say basic functions are the same.
So forcing a save, by traveling to garage (I usually just click on fast travel to festival, as it is always free), then after exiting from there, wait on spinny thingy to finish, then exit the game (not suspend it).
But after game exit, the fun part starts, as your save game is being uploaded to cloud. In my case it usually takes 1 to 2 minutes to finish. So don’t just power down the console after game exit, let it idle/upload for a minute or two and only after that power it down and consider switching to another console.

I use that on my desktop/laptop combo and never had any progress problems.
