Not sure if this is the correct place for this, so redirect me if i’m in the wrong spot.
One major issue I’m having with the new update is the Painting Rims feature… It works fine so far BUT… a HUGE BUT… Every single livery I’ve made prior is a little messed up… (depending on the wheels you use)
This pretty much only effects any one who has made liverys before the Series 3 update, but the worst part about it is that IF you’re designs/liverys are *Shared & you attempt to fix the wheel color & save/overwrite the file you’ll be un-sharing the livery & back at 0 Downloads/uses & likes
Example car: Subaru BRZ (upgraded /w race suspension, wider track width & Enkei RPF1) (default Chrome Wheels) Car color: Blue Windows Blue Wheels: Blue (Before update!) AFTER UPDATE * Car: Blue Window: Blue Wheels: Lip/Trim: Chrome(default for RPF1), Paint Group 1: Blue Inner barrel: not sure can’t see it half the time
Let me know if you guys already noticed this or just finding out now. The update should have just used our primary color to replace all the layers/groups for the wheel colors IMO.
I just pulled all my designs. I’m sick and tired of micro-managing my way around poor programming/design decisions and a complete disregard for a rather large chunk of the community. I won’t be re-sharing any of my stuff.
Not saying it’s a bad game, it’s really good fun. But the painting side is dead in the water.
I’m glad this is a new thing because if it happened a year later, imagine if all your downloads had 100+ downloads each or even in the 1000s & you had to reshare 250+ liveries lol. On Horizon 3 I have a good amount of downlaods and it took a while for me to get livery downloads… If i had to do that on fh3 Idk if I’d even bother with it…
Imagine downloading some nice livery only to notice the “trim” of the wheels are different colors than the whole design
It’s a nice add on but they def need to fix this. I’m just picturing Don Joewon Song’s paints are all a little off now lol, he’d prbly be able to get most of the downloads back but yeah it’d be a huge headache to fix all your designs.
Yes … the devs are aware that the wheel painting update has broken every livery with painted wheels created up until the feature was implemented. No word however on whether or not they’ll do anything about it or when that might be if they do. The devs have been working on the wheel painting feature for months and it’s really pretty unbelievable that none of them thought to do anything about it before releasing the feature. Of course the community noticed the broken liveries immediately upon update. I find it hard to imagine that the devs wouldn’t have also noticed it during development.
