When you cut a corner or make contact with another car and the game decides there will be no punishment, you still get penalized with a 1.0 rating for the segment, even if it wasn’t your fault. I would also like to see more rewards for overtakes. Here are my suggestions:
If you cut a corner or collide with another driver and it was your fault, the driver should get a time penalty, and the segment rating should reduce to 1.0 as it currently does.
If you cut a corner accidentally and are not given a time penalty, the driver should also not receive a 1.0 rating. Instead, there should be a negative multiplier factor like 0.5x, resulting in a 1.5 or 2.5 segment rating.
If you collide with another driver and it was NOT your fault, the driver should not get a time penalty, and the segment rating should only reduce by a factor of 1.0 or 2.0 instead of dropping to 1.0. This would result in at least a mediocre segment rating of 3-5. Honestly, crashes in the first round due to AI happen often, and it bothers me that they destroy my segment points.
Better rewards for overtakes and the style of overtake. This might be the hardest to realize, but an extra reward for clean overtakes would be nice. Currently, you get points for overtaking regardless of how it’s done. Whether you collide with another driver or not, you receive the same points. In my opinion, a clean dive bomb or a clean overtake around the outside should give a better reward than a natural or unclean overtake.
Rewards for overtakes while AI is in the pits. There should also be a reward for successfully performing an undercut or an overcut. Undercut rewards should be easy to implement. Not sure if overcut rewards are achievable, but it would be nice too. Currently, you get no points for performing an undercut or overcut.
