Add a 40 FPS @ 120 Hz Balanced graphics mode on consoles

Hello, I just want to know how many Xbox Series players of the FH5 community are in need of a graphical mode that would offer no compromises between image quality and smootness? Because currently we’ve got only two modes to play with on Series consoles and none of them gives us that… “Quality mode” gives what the other “Performance mode” takes away and vice-versa and I end up switching all the freaking time between them because I can’t satisfy with any, actually.

Who in this regard would be interested in a mode that fixes this issue like a balanced or a 40fps option like Spider-man or Rachet&Clank games do?

PS: And with the announcement of FSR 2.0 this would be even more feasable !

Cheers

It would be nice if the XSX was powerful enough to support 4k 60fps by default.

With FSR 2.0 Series X should be able to deliver a crisp image and 60 fps in the majority of games!
Looking foward to it with excitment = )

40 fps mode makes a ton of sense! Keeping the LOD high, while decreasing already great input lag.

It would be perfect have unlocked fps whit the vrr activated, or the 40 fps mode. We need this pls.

Hi. We need a 40 fps or unlock fps mode. 30 fps is not aceptable in the next gen consoles

I find it perfectly acceptable. But doesn’t it do 60 fps in Performance Mode on the XSX?

Yeah you have 60fps, why not just use that? Xbox One S might not though, but isn’t a next gen console.

I am all for a 40FPS mode.

Because in performance mode have lower efects and shadows. I prefer lower resolution and best graphics settings whith 60 fps or fps unlocked

We need this as well as FPS unlock on VRR displays

Thanks for this thread

I hope this feature makes it into the game

I constantly switches between 30 and 60 from time to time on Series X

A 40 FPS mode will solve that issue for me

Exactly, neither mode is fully satisfactory. 30 FPS has insane input lag and feels too choppy for a racing game, especially when playing with high-performance cars.

In the performance mode, you’re basically playing with Xbox One X/last-gen visual settings.

  • Shadows take a big hit, especially those cast by trees onto your car; they look Minecraft-level pixelated.

  • You completely lose parallax tessellated textures; some textures look completely flat in performance mode rather than looking 3D.

  • Multilayered textures on the terrain are also gone.

  • Ray-traced reflections in Forza Vista are gone.

-Plants and pebbles density also take a big hit

All that just for 60 fps… I’m pretty sure with all of those downgrades the game could even hit 100 fps if they gave us a VRR uncapped framerate mode.

A 40 FPS mode would be the perfect middle ground, and that’s the mode I would always choose to play.

Reason: On consoles, adding a 40 FPS @ 120 Hz Balanced graphics mode targeting dynamic 4K resolution with TAA and the best graphics settings possible while maintaining a stable framerate would be a great alternative to the Quality and Performance modes.

In general I would love if there where more modes.
Imagine one mode that optimizes everything for Forzatographers like resolution and render distance, or a mode for hardcore racers where framerate is most important and puts less importance on track side things.
The three modes we have right now are quite ok, but I’ve heard a lot of people be unhappy with the mode they use, most of the time the people who use quality mode complain about stuttering/framerate and people who use performance mode complain about, … well the same thing, lol, but also about track textures and shadows/light.
Considering that the graphics in FM are suffering most under the badly applied raytracing, I think it would make most sense if the devs would implement a stable RT mode first, that gives the game the AAA graphics that people are screaming for and then afterwards they can work on other more specified modes like a middle as you describe it.
I think such a 40 fps mode could also be interesting for players who want to create cinematic videos, but for that there must be something implemented like a drone mode like in FH5.

My biggest hope is that the next Xbox comes out with 90fps 120Hz or 160Hz capability and therefore makes more game modes for various games possible, yes very unlikely, but hope dies last.
