I was just wondering what everyone’s experience with the Acura NSX is? I’m sure there’s a really good S1 class car in there but I struggled to get it out last night. The stock engine when tuned has more torque and less bhp than the v10 you can swap in. The power delivery is strange on the stock engine, coming in at low revs and then tailing off towards the red line, whereas the V10 is a more standard upwards trajectory. It handles well without aero and race tyres. My best attempt ended up with the V10 + turbo but I was still a good 1.5 seconds off my best time on my test track in an S1 car.
Anyone else find this with this car? Could be a great S1 but something is lacking somewhere?
My experience with the car is that it’s an absolute grip machine but unfortunately not much else. It’s been a while since I built mine but funnily enough I used it online for the first time in a while a couple of nights ago. It quickly reminded me how much grip it could offer in the very first race, plenty of corners for it to devour. It kinda went downhill from there in the following races though as my buddies more powerful car took over. Like you have already alluded to, the Acura just lacks overall grunt.
I believe I have mine on its stock tyres and no Aero, possibly stock engine but not completely sure. But even with more focus going into power it still lacks compared to many other cars in the S1 bracket. Hence it’s lack of appearance online or on leaderboards. It’s perfect for the very few technical tracks available but in my findings anyway, falls short in a large percentage of other tracks.
I have mine focused on power with stock tires, stock motor, and no aero. It handles well, but the way this game focuses on straight line speed hurts this car, especially in S1. When I get home I might try rwd and see if that helps.
Unfortunately the car itself is just average, despite its tune. As fas as my testing went, the V10 is a must as the Stock engine doesnt deliver the same amount of power while still be under 900 Pi.
For testing i always use the 2nd rival track in Yarra Valley (Rainforest Circuit its called IIRC), and i was able to clock a 59.984, which is an okay time compared with other vehicles. I used the V10 with twin turbos, AWD, stock tires and no aero. Its also faster to not use all 9 gears the transmission provides; i only used 6.
If you are interested in the tune i could free up some space to save it, as i already reached the limit of saveable tunes, or i post the exact settings here if you wish to improve it yourself
