ABS or traction control by default if the car has it

Hi.

I was thinking something for wheel player. (that can work on pad too)
Will it be cool if we can get a “Real setting adjustable” for car to ABS / TRS / Clutch.

Like, if you take your Lamborghini aventador, the game switch automatically in manual without clutch, ABS on and TRS ON. But if you take a Ford mustang 67, it’ll disable it automatically.

That will make more fun to switching car and make the feeling with the gameplay more fun.

Same for automatic setting. It’ll be fun if we can get some “real” gearbox.
Like you pushing only 5% throttle for drive at 30MPH but the car is on 4th gear. Not Hard Crying in 1st gear like is it actually.

Best regards.

It would be interesting to see that there are default aids in cars, that is, if a car has ABS in real life, that it comes with ABS activated. I don’t really like the idea of touching these “aids” depending on the car.

I’ve always agreed with this idea! There’s two ways to go about this:

  1. Simply have difficulty/assists tied to individual cars if you want to.

  2. Have assists like Stability Control, Traction Control, ABS etc. as upgrades in the upgrades & customization section, and then once you purchase the upgrades then the difficulty settings become unlocked.

I personally prefer the second option, as I think part of the joy of driving older cars is that they lack any of those features & are more of a challenge to tame, so having players experience that would be cool! The idea of a 1930s Indy cars having traction control is insane. Even though most players are going to immediately spend the money (or points now) for ABS & stability upgrades.

I totally agree.

This is really a downside for me who is looking for more immersive and authenticity.

Just add an optional car manufacturer specific assist setting with ABS, TCS, transmission, etc… per car:
Go to assist setting and select car manufacturer assist and boom you have the real-life assist corresponding of your current car in game.

This doesn’t really work well with older cars as some cars back in the day had traction control, ABS and other assists as an option but not standard, or standard with certain trim levels but an option on others, a really good example is the NA/NB Miata, base model did not have ABS, but came standard with automatic trans, or as an option with different packages/trim level for manual only. (Automatic trans had to have ABS) in motorsport 7 they already had made it so you could pick an choose which assists you wanted active and did away with the CR bonuses from it so it really doesn’t matter.

Do it based on the trim level of the car Forza actually scanned then. Most of the time Forza picks to scan fully optioned cars
(also when I hear old cars, I do not think of a 90s Miata haha)

PCars 2 had an “Authentic” setting for ABS/TCS that did a good job of this. I’d like to see that implemented here.

I’d also like to see it come with an adjustable control for dialing it up or down, that we could bind to a rotary on our wheel. GT7 already has something like this.

It would be great to have an option for “authentic settings” that automatically provide the true driving assistance systems for each car. When selecting a GT3, ABS and TC would be automatically enabled, while an old car like the McLaren MP4/4 would have no assistance at all.

Another solution would be to implement an option to adjust the driving assistance settings for each car in the car’s configuration, such as the force feedback (FFB) intensity and steering wheel angle.

Chuck it on the Suggestions Hub so we can vote on it, I think this is a very good idea.

This option was in Project Cars 2.
Never saw this in another game. Very weird.

It was in Project Cars 2 and Automobilista 2, I think it would be pretty simple to implement.

Great idea. I have to do this manually now, and usually forget so I end up driving an Escort 1600 that someone added ABS stability control to lol

I’ve been wishing for a game to do this for a long time, even with all the leaps in realism GT7 made, they don’t have this feature either.

I could very likely be wrong, but I don’t imagine it’d be terribly difficult to implement, relative to all the other features people are asking for. On the backend of the game, they store all of the values for each individual car(weight, horsepower, etc.), storing a default “yes” or “no” value for each car’s ABS and TCS field probably isn’t a crazy request.

Then from the difficulty menu, for ABS and TCS, users can select between ON>OFF>CAR AUTHENTIC or whatever you want to call it. I would still leave TCS turned off though lol

That would be great. Especially if they would finally add a sim transmission that simulates a real automatic gearbox with PRND(S) instead of 1-6 or 1-10 depending on the amount of gears it has.

I feel like this thread should be moved into the suggestions hub

Having a menu like this might help with that:

Many race cars have different levels of TC’s which will effect the handling! Example= gt3 cars.

Same…I kinda’ look at like this though. I look at the year of the car, what did it come stock with. I then I look at…if I’m putting race brakes on I’m adding TC. I tune all of my cars without any assists and then go from there. I mean honestly a 2019 Lambo comes stock and in a race package with TC so why not use it whereas a 1970 Lambo would not, so I don’t use it. Anything prior to 2000 probably didn’t come with any TC and anything before 1990 probably didn’t come with ABS.:person_shrugging:t2:

Absolutely would be amazing if a setting “same as car IRL” could be used for overall assists.

Yeah, I’d love for assists to be on by default based on the car. For example, cars made before 1977 should have ABS disabled and unavailable by default, and to enable it, a brake upgrade or, even better, an ABS kit upgrade would be required. Likewise, cars that never had a manual / Automatic transmission option should require a transmission upgrade or a transmission conversion to drive them as a manual / auto.

It’s a sense of realism that I think would enhance the experience and add another layer of decision-making when choosing what car to race.
