About using other peoples tunes

I feel like its kind of cheap to use someone else’s tune…now I understand some people are very casual and just want to have some fun. Those people are ok.

EDIT: or don’t know how and lack the time or want to learn.

What I’m griping about are the folks who use downloaded tunes and constantly place in the top 3…ill pay attention them and every course they change cars and with that the tune they’re using changes and its never their own, and they place top 3 consistently.

I personally just cannot respect a driver who does that…am I alone in feeling this way? It’s like they just play to win win win and I just don’t see any fun in that. I am very competitive and I also try to win but I wanna do so with something I’ve built. To each there own I suppose…

TLDR: I really dislike the people who whore multiple downloaded tunes and constantly win

Not all of us can tune a car. I literally have no idea what I am doing. I have tried and watched videos but i’m not interested in doing or learning that. Takes way too much time and I have no patience where changing one thing effects some other and its an endless chase to figure out what. So I shouldn’t use anybody’s tune and just put parts? That does not seem fair at all. What is stopping you from using the tune they are winning with? It isn’t that I’m using it to win, win, win. I try various tunes until I find one that suits me. As a person who tunes you should be able to combat this. I’m far more concerned with wreckers and corner cutters, far worse than using someone’s tune. Give me a break. Like Cole Trickle I don’t know crap about cars but I can drive.

I believe that with tuning it opens up the possibilities for a more well rounded racing gamer. For example someone who is the better driver but can’t tune a car to save 0.001 of a second could be beaten by someone who can’t drive as well but can tune the crap out of his car. IMO the trading of these tuning setups should be stopped because it takes away the tuning advantage and like originally said is unfair because now the better driver can just download a great setup and the lesser driver has no chance in beating him.

So it’s unfair to be fast? What…

Lol.

Even if sharing wasn’t allowed, players will still share the open source with friends/teammates. If you only knew how often that happens…

To back this up, My friends and I share tune setups privately almost all the time. Removing the ability to share tunes will just separate the elite drivers from the casuals.

Just imagine, with us 4 collaborating on tunes constantly, we can generate something in 30 minutes that would take an average gamer 2+ hours to create.

Most people - almost nobody in fact - has that kind of time.

Or we could share our tune, saving casual players some time. Imo, I want to spend my time on the track and out of the upgrade menu, and I’m sure most feel the same way

To back this way up I don’t think it’s unfair for you to be fast and I’m not really sure where you pulled that out of. I do however think it’s unfair to be getting tuning setups. Let’s say we raced and you were faster because of your tuning setup, so I decided to go a get someone else’s tuning setup and I beat you. That doesn’t prove you the better driver is, that proves who can find the best setup.

Exactly removing the sharing would separate the elite from the casuals. That’s how it should be because they’re the ones investing more time.

I know what your saying. I tune and build alot of stuff and would love for everybody to have to uses there own stuff. But I don’t think it’s good for the game. Right now if somebody torching a lobby with a great download tune, everybody can just download the tune right in the lobby. This makes it an level playing field. I know you want to keep your advantage so you can have a chance beating better players.

I was wondering if this was where you were going. - unbelievable. We should all be in our respective boxes- screw community unless of course it’s elite to elite and casual to casual

My gripe isn’t with people who can’t tune. I should have put that in there where I said I understand casual players wouldn’t have the time or know how

What I said was that there are people out there who “abuse” being able to download the best tunes and being able to constantly win

Yes I am butthurt.

It’s on you to make a better tune than, and when you are done share it with me lol. Even if it’s a leaderboard tune they are downloading or something it doesn’t mean it will work for them, everyone drives different.

Why?.. some people are the best when it come to driving, some people are the best at tuning and some are just good at both, and yes you’re alone!!!

I mainly just tune in Forza, as it is what I enjoy the most. I personally take pleasure in seeing someone drive my tunes, as I have several friends that only drive mine. It is an essential part of Forza, to me telling someone to tune their own car is like saying everyone should paint their own car, thus taking the team aspect away from the game. In real life not every driver works on their cars nor paint them. It is what makes Forza what it is.

Personally I think the ability to use anybody tune is a huge bonus. If it so happens that a tune is super fast well done to who ever uses it for picking a good tune. With such large multiplayer fields leaderboard tunes don’t really matter there is always someone to race. If you want to run mid pack with your own tune that’s good for you if you have to download a tune to move up a couple places that’s good too. Just stop running me off every f*****g corner RRRRwAR

I really don’t care. Use your own tunes, use other people’s, drive whatever car you like. It really doesn’t matter. I mostly run my own tunes and do alright but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t use somebody else’s setup if they had what I needed.

How many professional drivers can build and or tune their cars? Yes, they can tell you it’s tight or lose, bottoming out, not geared right but chances are they need their mechanics and crew chief to figure out how to fix the problem.

I love to build, tune and paint as many cars as I can in this game. I hope for people to be using my tunes and would be even more happy that something I built is putting someone on the podium consistantly. Even better would be if it was with my paintjob!

It’s cool to have you’re opinion that it’s “cheap” to use someone else’s tune and constantly win. Your choice. Are you being beaten by these lazy, good for nothin’ mooch drivers? Lol maybe some of these tunes are fun?

And for all you good for nothings out there, I should have a couple new tunes, circuit and drag, maybe even a paint job or 2 for all you cheap drivers to use this weekend. Actually, I just put up a fun S Class Lambo with a paintjob and everything! Have fun!!

THAT’S WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT!!

So OP dislikes the player that wins and has system for winning in lobbies. (Know what car, tune they want per class, and track) so EMW Venom would be fine (runs his own tunes and wins)— but I would not be run other tunes and wins win the fast fast guys aren’t around.

What else is new. Does this need to be in the tuning section. (I guess because it was supposed to garner support from tuners-- but hey fox-- people share tunes to see how others do with them. And who doesn’t like to see their tune they worked on the front page of top scores/ division/ hardcore. It’s a pretty nice feeling.

At mod — it would be real nice if there was a complaining section – where complaining threads could be put.

That way when I want to complain (which I have and will agin in the future- so I am not picking on op) I could go there and fire away, vent etc And those that get tired of it. Can skip it. By going to discussions, tuning, news, etc.

Do you think Michael Schumacher tuned his own cars? I find this thread on a very slippery slope! Never have I seen such a complaint in these forums and I have been in here for awhile.

Let me say this as a tuner. People can drive my tunes faster than I can. I find that to be very rewarding.

SP01LED JAM1E tunes work very good with my wheel and especially like the no aero tunes. Thanks Jaime!!

I tried to tune in forza 4, it was so stressfull. Lots of respect for racers who have top tunes even if they dont share with the community. Hats off to all the tuners who are willing to share tunes. These tuners that share are the only reason I can honestly enjoy playing FM6 and using my wheel.
