I’ve never really been a fan of F1 games so I finally bought the E21 last night just to see what it was like and I was very impressed. It took a little bit to get used to the crazy grip and braking like it hit a brick wall but after a handful of laps I started to get into somewhat of a groove. The only downside I could see was, this car more than any other made me realize how much I need a racing wheel to be really competitive.
I completely understand the draw people have to open wheel racing games now and will probably be much more open to them in the future.
Yah i felt the same way. And I did get the Thrustmaster wheel, and it does rock (although its $150 too expensive and is prone to failure…although mine has been perfect thus far).
i dont like openwheel especially on prague. there is always one or more that won’t use the breaks and tries to take you on the inside when there isn’t room. they pin you against the wall and your wheels are locked together so there is no way to get loose. getting them to acceleratle slowly so you can pull away from eachother sometimes takes so long you are getting lapped. and you have to wait for them to do it. you cant go thru the wall and going into them just keeps you locked up tighter.
It would be bettered by mimicking Codemasters F1 games. You can’t do this with real F1 cars because contact so easily ends in disaster. They are made for performance, not banging into one another like kids just learning to drive, so their suspension and wings tend to fly apart upon collisions. Interlocking wheels is a good way to find yourself somersaulting through the sky.
I can definitely see where a public lobby or career would get very annoying, very quickly. I just messed around with rivals so it was smooth sailing, Sharid.
