Think the “those that enjoy it” part of the community are singleplayer players. So for sure they want some progression system but pretty sure not like this. Why leveling each car? Give us the oldshool low level car → high spec / rookie → expert you can still lock some parts in it with garage upgrades or whatever. But not the “ubisoft style” grind and thats for each car.
In rivals and multiplayer it should be same for everyone without restrictions or same restrictions. No locked parts or same locked parts.
Same for timelocked cars make the game fun and add more singleplayer stuff and people keep playing the game without the forced grind.

I’m here since the 5th October.
It’s a little late for do the changes, you lost a lot of gamers in the road.
But I can understand the first thing was solve the mess of bugs in a not finished game.
At this point we appreciate the message,
but it’s the same, all time we needed this changes and the game complete polished.
For the community of FM 23, do it ASAP.

The timelocked cars are the same idea as the FH5 weekly races, except if you didnt finish them in time there was always the auction house to eventually get them. The only positive thing (?) in FM you have 6 weeks to finish the races, maybe leave the time restricted cars but have them available as rotating races so they are always become available at some point.GT7 has a similair thing with the legends dealer, not races just waiting around for car X to appear.
I dont know what will happen long term to be honest.

I wish this was posted much earlier when many people still believed in and played this game but it’s still better than nothing🥺

Car progression: “retain what is working for those that enjoy it, while resolving the issues[…]”
So basically they won’t get rid of this absurd system. There’s no way to “resolve the issues” and “retain car progression” at the same time.
The only progression this game needs is the player level and sportsmanship level.
Anyway do you guys remember the glorious Forza 4? I do.
Meditate on that.

They was never just going to ditch this system. And honestly they dont need to they need to adjust it so we get xp quicker and doesn’t become a grind to level up the car.
I reckon they will also add the availability to purchase upgrades. So people that want to use xp can and people thatwant to use cash can.

Sorry as already said by someone heavily involved with this area. The forums player base represents generally 1% of the total player base. Yes we might be the more enthusiastic and invested. But that poll only represents 1000 people. So how many units sold including game pass use. Well over that and some!
Do the math?

I would really like it if I can just save my MP replays, it’s been almost 3 months and a basic replay from your online experience is not available.

It shouldn’t involve any new mechanics, because all CarPG really acts as is an extra gate sitting between the player and the upgrades. Removing it would literally be as simple as reverting the parts back to being purchasable by credits and adjusting the in-game economy accordingly - reverting back to the tried-and-tested racing game formula that has worked for decades without major incident. The fact that they are now saying it will take months to do what they have already demonstrated they can act on in mere weeks (even as haphazard as the “fix” was) says two things to me: they are entertaining the idea of doing just that, but there’s pushback against doing anything more than just tweaking it. Again, though, they are going to end up removing it eventually, because CarPG is one of several dead and rotting albatrosses hanging around this game’s neck, and simply adjusting numbers here and there would be like spraying Febreeze on the corpse and hoping that fixes the problem.
Sales are going to dictate that, and right now this game’s sales are junk. As of today, it’s 504th place on the Microsoft Store’s chart, all but erasing it’s holiday sales bump. On Steam, it’s consistently knocking on the door of dropping below 300 players. For a game of this caliber, that is a death sentence. No AAA studio is going to continue development on a game averaging just hundreds or even thousands of players.

This game’s playerbase isn’t much larger than that.

While I appreciate the update and the commitment to more communication, it’s hard not to feel a sense of disappointment. The acknowledgment of key issues is overdue, and rather than engaging in conversation with the community, it feels like we’ve been left in a monologue which, frankly, comes across as willfully ignorant by Turn10.
I question why CarXP was nerfed as early as patch 1.0, yet now we’re talking in terms of months for any action. Concerns were evident very early on. Now, after three months, we’re told it’s a top priority for 2024. Excuse my skepticism, but it’s easy to articulate plans; action speaks louder than words.
Many believed in the promises pre-release and were let down. Now, promises for the future feel hollow. I’ll believe it when I see tangible results, not just words on a screen. What’s left of the community deserves more than quarterly updates; it deserves timely actions to address the multitude of issues that have persisted for too long already.

Doesnt bode well then.Fingers crossed they can pull it together.
Or speed up XP gain and once you unlock a part for one car it unlocked it for the rest of the cars from that manufacturer.

I’m quite disappointed with FM. I gave it a chance but the single player is too boring for me. I’ve grown tired of driving the same car for more than an hour, especially those practices. Also the whole UI is a mess. I can’t figure out what is single player / featured etc. Then the sounds. I don’t know why you didn’t just use FH5’s car sounds if you weren’t planning on upgrading them. But I don’t understand why you weren’t planning on upgrading, you had 6 years. Car sounds are bad. Worse than FH5. Also it’s embarassing to have so few tracks / MOTORSPORT cars at launch after 6 YEARS. Then there’s the Digital Foundry video comparing FM with GT7. Oh boy. Who chose the washed out visual style? Who chose to put forests around every track and depart from the real life counterparts? What are you trying to hide behind those trees? That video just proves that FM is a lesser product.

What would getting rid of Rivals achieve? Honestly its one of the best game modes. Agree CarPG needs to go though

I know nobody cares, especially at T10, but here are main problems, what I think, should be changed:
-
Car Level system need to go.
-
If not, cars should continue leveling up beyound 50. Just for stats, as driver level. What is the point of showing a number 50 in the right top corner?
-
Credits should be used for upgrading cars. Everyone by now has millions of pointless credits and they are just for buying cars (too cheaply)…
-
Car prices should be more realistic.
-
Penalty system should be much harsher. Penalties should be applied in the same lap. To prevent rammers getting to the top and to reduce their motyvation.
-
Too many times players are asked to choose a car. Car selection should be permanent. And the selected car should be displayed in the players garage under main menu.
-
And get rid of the fixed camera in the car and upgrade shop already.

@Clutch2009 is so on point.
The new problem for people like me who had been waiting to see if this game turns itself around is that we’ll have missed out on several months’ worth of exclusive time limited content.
Even if this game is fixed and polished and an amazing experience sometime this year I am still encouraged to NOT play it because I know I will never have access to all of the content.
When it comes to FOMO, the only way to win is to not play at all.

I though it was only car pass cars that are exclusive. These timed events rewards can’t they be bought in showroom?
They can’t…my guess is they’ll be available for purchase at a later date or there will be another event to “win” them. I can’t imagine personally how they’ll rob new players from obtaining them…as much as I despise T10 atm

Oh, so now they’ve decided to test parts of the game?
