Each month so far there have been two time-gated cars. One for completing the Featured Tour and one for completing the Class Tour. These cars are not available to purchase, cannot be obtained once the relevant event has timed out, and there is no indication of when it may be possible to obtain them in future.
I’ll only believe it all when I see it and experience it myself. At the moment these are all just empty promises like before with this game!
Also there are many topics about the career and i dont see any word about it above…
I agree with all of these changes and would like to add one more:
- Controller steering inconsistency + lack of adjustability (linearity/sensitivity) need to be addressed.
It is clear from looking at feedback that while many of our players are enjoying the system as is, for many others it isn’t delivering the upgrade experience that they expect from Forza Motorsport. To address this, we are exploring changes to the system. Our goal with these changes is to retain what is working for those that enjoy it, while resolving the issues many of our most dedicated players have with the system.
I’d love to see their evidence that “many” players are enjoying the carpg system.
I’m also glad to see, and I think it’s worth highlighting, people who are enjoying the carpg system are viewed as a separate group of people from the user base considered their most dedicated players.
Consider this. The dedicated player base enjoyed the upgrade system of the previous seven games enough to justify an eighth. Are there enough “carpg fans” that if you keep the carpg system, they’ll justify a ninth?
Carpg has to go.
So no hope for a proper campaign or an update to the presentation. Ugh. I suppose those other areas are more pressing but I’m really depressed. The actual driving in this game is really good but it’s just not a real game. It’s like a demo right now and I have no reason to keep playing.
I agree with the level system being memory-holed, but why get rid of rivals?
Honestly in terms of car progression, just bringing back the auctionhouse would solve so many problems at once.
People could buy and sell leveled cars for a credit premium decided organically by how much the community values it. It would give turn 10 the playtime stats they need, but people would still have the option to bypass car levelling if they’ve progressed enough to earn enough credits.
This keeps the car levelling system intact without having to integrate it back into a credits system, while still allowing credits to be used indirectly.
It would also make the awful timed content as bearable as in horizon, which is still awful fomo, but at least it would be possible to access cars no longer available in events or the autoshow.
The auctionhouse is precisely why I thought car levelling was per car to begin with. It actually seemed like an interesting idea that duplicate cars would be different levels if they could be bought and sold.
Agreed. I think the physics are a huge improvement. My driving has improved because of it. Yet, I’ve stopped playing the game. Have no interest in it right now. Regret paying for it. I fell in love with it in FM5. Then bought the older versions to play on a used XBox 360. That’s how much I loved the franchise. I’m not in love anymore.
So this is an admission this game is not of the quality we were lead to believe we could expect.
In that case T10 should ask Steam to act on all requests for refunds as a gesture of good faith and allow players to spend their funds on products that work reliably and are of the standard customers have been lead to believe they are going to receive.
Anything less than this is and should be considered a flagrant a breach of trust and be made illegal world wide, time restrictions on refunds should be banned quality and functionality should be the baseline NOT time spent trying to fix/debug these products!
In my case? Failure to do this simple act will result in me NEVER buying another game from a developer that has lied repeatedly about the quality of their product.
EA pulled a similar stunt on me with BF4 in 2013 refused me a refund as a TRIPLE A game was NOT included in their Great Game Guarantee program.
I’ve not bought an EA game since…
T10 will join them in my “never again” list unless they act to allow refunds for this broken mess of a game.
I would consider repurchasing but only when I hear the issues have been fixed but not until that happens!
T10 ACT NOW OR LOSE US FOR GOOD!
I just don’t understand how your game can be “fast and agile” allowing for constant fast updates, like you talked about relentlessly marketing the game, and then when you are called up on actually start implementing some of those changes…
Well, now we have to listen and test and all that. Why didn’t you listen and test the first go around? I feel super lied to about how AI was supposedly implemented for the A.I. (It’s the same stupid system) and how FRR has undergone such a dramatic overhaul. I just don’t get how you can try to sell us on these features that never apparently existed.
Turn10’s marketing team is more talented than their development team apparently.
Turn 10 seems to be entirely unwilling to even recognize how cancerous CarPG is to it’s reputation. I’d love to be super-optimistic and say that the reason for the newest delay is because they are crafting and programming in an entirely new system…but I know better. They are absolutely going to try and save this horrible system; it’ll get packaged in with the Nordschleife update and be rebranded as CarPG 2.0, and Esaki will make a rare appearance to explain how this one’s gonna be the one…
…and it’s going to tank, because the people have already spoken. “CarPG 2.0? No 2.0.” So then we’ll have to wait more months, and then finally in October or November, the interns left in charge of this game will finally just scrap it for the credit-based system and that’ll be the end of it.
Keep the existing vehicle xp and levels up to 50 like it is.
Just make all upgrade parts available for a purchase price like the old generations.
Fully agree. But the same should apply to XBOX store costumers.
CaRPG shouldnt be used for Parts. It would have been more clever to use it for Car Classes. You start with perhaps classic Hot Hatches car class and collect XP. When you collect xp Points then you get access to higher classes the more you progress. That would have been fun. But its too late for that.
Progression should be stripped. Honestly. It was implemented so lazily and half a**ed that I think if you ever do want to try to add another progression system. You should literally show us first so we can tell you if its okay or not. Like a child asking if he folded the cloths right.
The penalty system isnt going to be fixed because theres no active emergent AI overlooking all of the possible scenarios live in a race, (Like what was advertised.) As far as I can tell penalties are completely random. Clipping the inside of an apex with half the outside wheel could get you 1.3 second penalties. Or completely going over an entire chicane could get you none. The most consistent penalties Ive experience is when running wide off a corner, Which is one of the cases where the off track loses you time, So the penalty is a heavy handed insult to injury.
The AI are the same joke they’ve always been, they have the same problems they’ve always had, its borderline just more noticeable now due to the effect of paying closer attention to lap times. Theres no generative AI behind them, (Like was advertised) they dont engage in racecraft, They can barely identify another car on the track, and when they do, the result is them just driving off the track entirely. Its the same as always, but worse. I have absolutely zero expectation of the AI ever getting better. Its been touted on every new entry, and it never actually gets better. Fool me once… and so on.
I think it would be nice to get an more detailed roadmap to see what will happend in near future
November they’ll have the Car progression removed. Thats the only one I can pretty confidently speculate.
I’ll also add the obvious for those of us here who haven’t already caught onto it.
Theres absolutely no point in revising those systems if theres still NOTHING TO DO IN THE GAME.
It can have a million tracks and a billion cars added to it but if the singleplayer stays as skeletal and barren as it is, the freeplay and multiplayer lobbies continue to lack the most basic of fundamental features for setting up races we want to do. And the multiplayer continues to be a “hurry up and wait” exercise with little variety only shifting month to month. Its just ending up as a showroom and test drive simulator that visually looks marginally worse than its predecessor.
Side note: I dont know why mainstream studios are so terrified of implementing server lobby browsers. Its peer to peer, its literally free content generation and can keep people coming back to your game for that sweet sweet player retention for years. The vast majority of more indie racing games have full on server browsers for player hosted or peer to peer servers. But it was like pulling teeth to get 343 to do it for HALO. And I genuinely dont know if T10 will ever do it again for Forza.
We have been asking for those player hosted lobbies since FM5 came out, i would say it is probably one the most requested features. Forza lost quite a few players when we lost those lobbies.
