A.I racers are a nightmare

I don’t have much troubles. Maybe I don’t play it as a racing game  With unbeatable it’s sometimes hard to win so I use every dirty trick I can. But I don’t remember any Horizon with racing style AI.

Their forcefields are actually just them essentially “vibrating” so to speak between the different positions each player sees them. Is they vibrate they may bump into you and send you flying with ntheir tiny movements. That’s at least my theory.

It’s important to say if we are talking about net game or not. Many ppl could have useless net connection so it could be their problem mostly.

Well, because real players have a tendency to be aggressive in this game, passive AI would just get murdered. So, yes, Unbeatable AI is really aggressive at times, pit maneuvers, that sort of thing, is actually predictable. I think it adds character to the game.

Never noticed any invisible forcefields apart from with trees, the collision system seems Ok to me. I agree that the Ai get a 200% boost at the end of a race if they are winning.

I usually race at expert or pro solo, depending on how competitive my car is, and I only rarely have the AI try to ram me off the course. What really ticks me off is that when I’m doing a clean pass, they’ll often whip the wheel over and try to tag me. It’s like a vindictive move - try to pass ME, a-hole? Let’s see how you like this! Of course that kills the clean pass, and the clean lap, not to mention possibly breaking a skill chain. I’ve learned to try to pass wide enough that they can’t reach me, but they often find a way to do it anyway.

Yeah they’re garbage. Had one make me miss a checkpoint today. >:|

Been making a Goliath Blueprint 3 laps, and I drove the racing lines as best as I could to place the blue lines where the Ai would go, and it worked! The Ai no longer crash on my Goliath, and are very hard to beat… which is good!

I keep getting very aggressive drivatars that intentionally ram my car, bump me from behind, and brake check me. How do I block certain drivatars that act this way or at least is there a setting to change the aggression level of the AI? I don’t like to play against humans because of this behavior, making the AI play just as aggressive is not fun.

Unfortunately not, but it should definitely be a feature. I too stay as far away from pvp as possible for these reasons. There’s no real consequence for damaging your car so people use them like they’re invincible because they are.

There’s no way to eliminate Drivatar behaviour you described so you need to grin and bear it.

Some thing you can do though, is to get bit more familiar with Drivatar racing lines. Take some longer route like the Colossus, give it few tries and you start learning certain patterns and anticipate certain things which helps you to choose your own driving line accordingly.

This makes Coop unplayable.

I always play on unbeatable, I am good, I win 90+% of those matches.

I don’t see vibrating force-fielded cars on Online adventures/pvp either.

I constantly see this bug in Coop since the start of the game. I have a hard time passing them at the start of the race when all of the force fielded cars are packed together, and even if you touch them a tiny bit, they send you off to fly.

I love coop racing with random ppl, but the force field is horrible. And not being put on the same lobby with the player you played with is stupid. One of my favourite thing to do in FH3 was to race with random people on Online Free Roam. It is great to be able to interact with random people online with 0 communication and still understand each other. No groups of random people drifting/racing together. Collision off.

PG wanted to make a social game but it is a lot more anti-social than FH3 due to various issues. But at this point I went far from the original topic. Fix coop drivatar force field, and let us play with random people we played with, don’t put us back on different sessions. Don’t make these mistakes in FH5 please. The content of the game is repetitive and only the randomness of player on player interaction can add variety to it. FH3 was a lot better in this.

Maybe try driving cleaner yourself
I find that most of the time the AI drivatars only drive in the way you describe after i hit them first
But of course there are some that are always just terrible…they mimic their owners

That won’t help come Trial time. Not even a lil bit. Those drivatars pull off some otherworldly stuff.

Yeah, I have seen weird things on Trials too, but it has been many months since I have seen Drivatars outright sideswipe player car with totally impossible move. I don’t know, excluding Cross Country I have done pretty well and so have teams I have got. Summer CC Trial was exception, but then I was bit rusty after not playing for weeks.

Maybe give a bit of PI to handling, start with cars which are easy to recover from unexpected and what comes to speed, it’s race against Drivatars, not your own team, beating Drivatars is enough. Only thing I can think of as game is what it is.

Just report them!

Really? I saw this at Lego only. But normally there is a boost for first 1/3, then it’s normal and on the end they slow down a lot. It’s a bit funny because I can’t beat them at start but at the end their engine is probably failing

I wonder if you ever touched, came up, hooked, accidentally pushed another car? I wonder how other players perceive your random behavior?
Or maybe you would like them to go off the road, because the only fair and perfect player is riding?

Of course, there are players who deliberately do so mostly because someone else has treated them that way.

Well, such behaviors are part of Online games, think, you do not play for a million dollars is just fun, maybe more laugh and have fun instead of reporting, because someone will report you someday and what then?

I’m talking about AI players, not real players.

Just empty your friends list of the drivatars that are terrible!!
