Not sure if I’m saying someone else has to take the reins – in fact I think I’ve been pretty clear in my statements here and in other threads that I believe T10 has what it takes, but that they seem to also need time.

Unless what you’re saying is that T10 is safe because who is MSoft going to bring in to replace them? If that’s what you’re saying, then I have to counter with:

there’s always someone; everyone is expendable

AND

there is a chance that MSoft feels FM has run its course as a series, and puts all its weight behind FH.

again; not saying that’s what I want to happen, just weighing the possibilities.

For sure. I guess the question about Spector, then, falls on XGS’ market share, whether they’re a loss leader for MSoft or what have you.

Forza won’t ever go third-party. Microsoft will ice the franchise first.

But before that happens, there’s a lot of cards left on the table for Microsoft to play, and they range from a wholesale cleaning out of Turn 10 to acquiring new studios or just outright shifting all energy to Horizon and leaving Motorsport for dead.

Don’t love the last option you present, but I can’t help to think it a very real possibility. Tbh, I’m kind of surprised it’s gone on this long, what with FH’s success and less and less of an attention span among players, which is perfect for FH’s various gameplay formats.

I think what needs to be done here is for FM to go back to its roots if it has a chance.

Take that livery tool that was so revolutionary right from the start and give it some love. Fix what needs fixing — won’t go over that again here as it’s been done ad infinitum — and expand it. Let us paint our driver’s suits and helmets. Let us paint our interiors, and our garages. Let us brand ourselves. Let us build a race team - see GRiD, see WRC 23.

Content: FM had Ferrari and Porsche before GT ever did. Remember how important content was and get back on that. You’ve got the physics model now, and this being a simcade, you’re all good there. Focus on content. Who here remembers those awesome DLC pack reveal vids? The guess the car contests? Or what about the time where T10 actually had us vote on cars we wanted in the game, and managed to get a tonne of them in there?!?!? That was amazing. That’s how you engage the community. That’s how you see organic growth.

Give us back the tracks we’re clamouring for, both fictional and real.

Fix the soundtrack

FM had interior dash view before GT did, and now GT has caught up there and FM seems to have backslid (no shift animations, etc) — give us fully realized cockpits.

I don’t care for the disciplines, but bring back drift and drag. Community needs them.

Kill…locked…upgrades…with…fire…and…extreme…prejudice.

Bring back the AH and SF

Do what you have to do to sort out your licensing — MSoft has the means — and start talking to various racing orgs. I know there is all this talk of locked licenses and blah blah blah but it’s not like racing is the hottest ticket these days. It needs the exposure.

I could on, but this is how the FM community was built, how it peaked around FM4 and so on. FM needs to go back to that if it hopes to survive.

Heres a tidbit I havent seen anyone mention. That plume of smoke is the end of a backfire. Coming out of the wheelarc diffuser. I cant get the replay to stop on the actual backfire because rewind doesnt work in that way. So best I could get was the backfire smoke. But they messed up where the car effects from the exhaust is on the Cover Car of the game. If that puts into context where their level of effort and QC is on this game.

Na… they invited me to some alpha test and it was bla. Tried FM7 rivals and there was no way to post clean lap…

But on series X it shouldn’t be like that.
Return the money to everyone who bought it and plow this title. Re-do from scratch.

Horizon 5 drifting is some of the best of any game I’ve played. Give it a go! The FD cars are epic

To be honest, there are some really good elements to FM 2023 but a lot of refinements are in order for sure.

Time Wil be the best judge.

Is it time of day and changing weather that makes game put some haze over lighting, or something?

Something with the lighting model is seriously wrong…when they decide it’s mirror enough they put the whole shebang on surface otherwise just some plain satin look.

Your spot on pretty much, but I hate to inform you but every single Hot Wheels car in game does in fact have a real world counter part. Not fantasy.

The Hot Wheels may be based on full-sized show cars, but I suspect the performance characteristics are completely made up. These were designed to be one-off promotional show cars, not precisely engineered race cars.
