So ya, for anyone who has modified the new GT3RS I’m sure you have probably noticed that at moderately high speeds while cornering the cars front wheels come off the ground which obviously makes it hard to control. Especially if there happens to be a bump in the turn. Kinda annoying considering I know for a fact the car doesn’t exhibit this characteristic in real life and in FH2 the car was amazing. FH2 is full of bumps and elevation changes and the car never once did a wheelie on me. I dunno what they changed but it sucks cuz I really really love that car. The stock model doesn’t do this nearly as bad as one that’s been modified. I thought this may have been due to the increased downforce on the rear from the forza wing so I took it off. It helped a bit but the car still does wheelies. Iv increased the stiffness of the ARB’s, springs, dampers by over 50% from default and it’s still doing it but not as bad as before. So I’m hoping one of the master tuners in here have some ideas as what I can do to fix this issue.
Drop the front ride heigh, raise the rear and increase rear bump stiffness. You want to transfer more weight to the front, also add downforce to the front end… Haven driven the Porsche yet as I’ve not bought the pack yet
I will definitley try this out when I start on the faster porches. While I’m not a fan of the growing micro transactions, I thought I would at least tell you that for me, VIR has quickly become one of my favorite tracks. Every variant, which there are 7 with night and rain for each, is a blast. It would have been cool of Turn 10 to make the track only available. Anyway, figured I’d give you a thought about the track, anyway. Alot of fun!
Iv tuned the old turbo the gt2 and the Cayman and haven’t experienced this with any of those. Seems to just be the gt3rs. Which is really annoying cuz it’s an amazing car and my fav Porsche. But I will try what y’all have suggested. Thanks
the joys of tuning Porsches. I remembered they were tricky but didnt remember just how tricky. the cayman is mid engine. its “normal” therefore not as tricky. If you have tuned the Ford GT40 then you can probably figure out a 911

Ok! I noticed this the other night as well and it ticked me off. This car does not do this in real life but whatever…
I remedied it but adding front splitter and increasing stiffness in the rear on the springs and shocks. This keeps the nose down but I still have to play with the settings to get it less tail happy, I want the front end to bite into the corners but its pushing a lot.
I hope T10 reviews this specific car because it is almost perfect. I can get both front wheels off the ground about a foot sometimes coming out of turn 5 on the curb at Road Atlanta running stock. Usually doesn’t end well. I love this car, but the front end has just a bit too much lift, especially if I hit a bump. Something in the physics model for this specific car gets confused is my guess. Game developers have a very hard time getting everything to behave correctly in a simulated world, especially when anything starts to leave the tarmac, even for just a moment.
Ok final version is up as RBBTS GT3RS. It’s got full aero, no front end lift and grips like a mother. However it’s a harsh set up and very unforgiving.

No I did not get the damping the wrong way round. You use the bump stiffness to control the pitch/squat/compression and the rebound to control the rate of decompression and overall compliance.
Im not getting into the science of it and why I set cars up the way I do. If you want that there are plenty of technical papers you can look at or search for the Optimum Suspension thread where you’ll find my calculations for the spring stiffness, damping rates and ARBS (the third Spring)
Most porsche’s are like that. Atleast the rear engined ones. They have always been tricky cars to drive. The gt3 rs just really ticks me off cuz it is the best handling car Porsche makes and it crap in this game… We shouldn’t have to go off using some crazy setup to try and correct problems that T10 built into the car. They for sure need to revise this car. Iv driven almost all the other porsche’s and none of them exhibit this horrible characteristic. Some are a bit strange to drive but that’s just how Porsches are and what makes them cool. If you can master their style they are great cars. The older gt3 is great in this game. The gt3rs in fm4 was an amazing car, but the newer one in this game just sucks.
So, what you are really wanting is that all cars have the same basic set up then? I’m liking the fact that each car needs something a little different. Or at least thats been my findings anyway. Then again, I reverse the stiffness settings on my shocks so a “little different” is pretty normal for me
That’s exactly it! Having cars that behave like the rest of them means they’re easy to drive with no need to adapt to the weight distribution or unique driving styles required to get the maximum out of the car.
People expect the Porsche to behave like a lotus because that’s what they’ve been used to on every other racing game. News flash a rear engine car will NEVER stick to the road like a lotus. They are a hand full they get off the line very well but other than that they will try to kill you when you get it wrong.
They aren’t broken the rest of you just need to adapt your style of driving and not mash the throttle mid corner. If you treat the car with respect and work on your lines and race craft you’ll shave more time off than you’ll ever manage by mashing the throttle down mid corner.
Mopar, for me the tuning is all about the science… it’s about the only part of the game that doesn’t bore me to sleep.

I’m well aware that Porsche cars have a very unique balance and characteristics. They take a different method of driving than a mid or front engines car. That said as I stated above the gt3rs does not lift the front wheels off the ground in real life and should not do the same in this game period.
I finally had some time to go and mess with the gt3rs again and had much success. With wide roving tires front and rear full aero weight reductions and the rest of the PI points spent on power for S700, setting the front ride height to 3.6 and leaving the rear at 4.0 pretty much solves the issue. Increasing the springs, rebound and bump damping by 20% further resolves the issue and just makes it handle better in general. If anyone would like my final setup which should be done within the hour msg me and I’ll PM It to you open source so you can adjust for your driving style.

I’m curious to see your build if you want to post it. I’m still working on mine but I’ll post it when I’m happy with it.
Calculations don’t really mean anything in Forza. Real life applications don’t work as well as the widely accepted “Forza tricks” people use for tuning (example: lifting the front end up all the way in FM4).
Also, those tire pressures look too low.
