The thing is, there’s not really all that much you can do to spice up track racing. Apart from maybe adding more types of Motorsport. So it makes sense that the majority of addition have been gimmicky and visual.
You can have fair and clean races with the right people but they are few and far between. Most ppl need babysitting, they need a game they can’t cheat at or abuse to gain an advantage. Fm6 fails to provide a safe a fair environment for all its players to get along not just those who intend to race that way. This is why lots and lots of ppl say the game is BROKEN.
It sounds to me like you’re saying it’s the people that are the problem.
What exactly is a “safe” environment in a video game?
When you says “lots” of people, what do you mean? just the small minority of people on this forum?
A safe environment would be 1 where trolls are kicked and tacks can’t be cut.
Many people are those on this forum and the countless others that are so fustrated with the online experince that they gave up months ago. For eveyone person on this forum that’s says there is nothing wrong there are 5 that say it’s broken. You only have to look back to see how many times this gets brought up.
Like I said u cant change ppl but there is enough data collected by t10 to change the game so that everyone can enjoy playing online.
The addition of penalties of various sorts and more correct and enforced track limits would make some difference. And for those people who would still wreck and cut (however many times they could before the penalties would make it infeasible to win or before they would be disqualified and maybe auto-kicked), the addition of functional kick voting would make even more progress in the correct direction…
People are A problem, but deficiencies in the game are also a problem.
Fixing one (the game) can help fix the other (the people).
After that, spicing up the game falls down to the variety of tracks and motorsports represented, just as Connor mentioned, plus the social features we had before but for some stupid reason lost more recently…
Several seasons worth of cars from CAN-AM, Trans-Am, NASCAR, Indy, GP/Formula 1, GT, ALMS, DTM, V8SCA, Euro/SuperTrucks, plus some others, plus general car culture street machines of many years and styles… Applicable tracks from all these disciplines, and more… And, of course, nailing the basics—good user interface and modeling/physics, good career/event list, good sounds and acceptable looks. Plus all the old features and abilities we had to set up custom races before, and the return of gifting/auction house/club social features… The game’ll be set.
But all these cars and disciplines need their own dedicated championships in order to be relevant. It’s not really useful to throw in a few cars from here and there and claim Forza has it all. Take the Mercedes racing truck, for example. There should be a complete truck racing championship in the game. Or a full IndyCar or NASCAR season. Also it’s not realistic to put BTCC cars agains WTCC and other touring cars - the regulations are different in each discipline. I’d be happier to have in fact fewer licenses but those would have their own dedicated careers so they would matter. Forza gets boring in the long run partly because there are no real championships and seasons you can participate in, it’s just a collection of cars from everywhere, and a list of races. Everything thrown together.
Same with multiplayer. It would be cool to set up complete seasons or championships and race that way, with proper rules to ban cheaters, corner cutters or people ramming other people off the track. I’m sure it’s possible to develop algorithms that can monitor these things. It would really evolve gameplay as a whole for everyone.
2 weeks to go until we get our first impressions of Forza’s future.
All we can do at this point is wait. I know what I am hoping for, no need to retread that ground once again; I just hope that Turn 10’s vision for the next game lines up with my own.
Fingers crossed that they have listened to what we want. With the E-Sports popularity growing, I think we will see some of the improvements we’ve been hoping for but probably not all. We can only hope for the best.
Check it out for yourself you only have scroll down the forum to see how many times this has been brought up.
Yes I will still play fm7 wether it’s fixed or not because we have a great group of players that have worked around it’s pit falls and I’m sure we will doit again.
My minimum criteria for buying FM7 will be can I find good multiplayer races with balanced fields and no need to constantly dodge beginners, cheats and rammers?
There are about a million specific things that I think would make the game better, but that’s what it boils down to in the end. If the answer is yes, I’ll buy it, and if it’s no then I won’t.
LOL at this thread. We all know T10 does NOT listen to its customers. Ever since I’ve started visiting the forums, I’ve heard complaints and requests for fixes to still see them incomplete many years later. They probably saw this thread and laughed. They probably went “Hey Jim! Come check this out!” and they both laughed together scrolling through each post.
Once I got a steering wheel and Project Cars & Assetto Corsa, I have not looked back. They should just stick to Arcadey games like Horizon. They do that right atleast
And that’s exactly what I meant when I said what you quoted, dreampage.
They messed up by having only the one truck. They messed up by having only a small number of DTM machines. They messed up by only having one of these, four of those, etc. Now, maybe I could have made it more clear what I meant, earlier.
In previous titles—FM1~FM4—the career/event list DID have separate events for DTM, touring car, GT1, GT2, GT3, LM, etc. But then we get to FM6, and some of that seems to be gone, a lot of it is instead all thrown together—and without any of it being forced to “play nice together”… These are deficiencies that should never have cropped up. These are issues that had better not show up again.
Like I said before, we need the appropriate cars, tracks—and, mentioned elsewhere, even mechanics for any and all disciplines that are going to be included! Water cooling systems for the brakes of the big race trucks; DRS and KERS for modern F1, KERS/Push-to-Pass for Indy and other applicable series… Applicable series in career/event list. Full access to field limitation/modifiers for setting up custom lobbies in multiplayer.
And without anything being too broken, or going so long without being fixed/repaired—as far as game mechanics are concerned.
This is it. This is the final challenge for Turn10.
In this year, The NFS:Payback, Project Cars 2, Dirt 4, GT:Sport are coming (maybe i forgot others)
This is it again. This is final countdown.
IF Forza Motorsport 7 come with like ‘’ FM6 Polished’';
It’s over.
As a Forza Player, i will never buy any Forza game again.
