Bought and sold a few of these this morning, now I can’t list the 7 that I have. Kinda not happy. Can anyone confirm?
Can’t sell either.
I bought one using a car voucher I had since beginning of game.
Sold on AH for 20M within about 3 seconds of listing…
Maybe some methods banned only?
You cant sell a car from a car voucher iirc… unless its broken with this car… which we may want to report in a ticket if that is the case
you could sell it until the update. something similar happened with the hot wheels cars for a short period of time. maybe this is temporary.
Or we may not.
ok I heard back from “Secret Agent McNugget” who told me the auction ban is in effect until the car becomes available as a seasonal prize.
Why do people care for money in this game again?
Because we need it to buy all of the pencil dresses.
Your’e harshin my buzz, Narc!
The rebel in me likes that “Passion’s Wagons” got to sell one before the ban.
i actually wish you could disable the “economy” in this game, specifically wheelspins, but we’re stuck with what they gave us so I’ll attpempt to explain my outlook:
I’ve been a legendary tuner since the first or second week, meaning I can sell my builds for 20 million credits. the actual tuner rank was broken for six or seven months, everybody said level 1, so the only way to really differentiate myself was to sell my best tunes thru the auction house.
I realized right away that the “buy a car for 20 million” accolade was going to push a thousand sales and 2 trillion credits my way, over the life of the game. not even exaggerating. i messaged a lot of the earlier buyers and asked why they paid 20 million for a 30k auto show BMW, or whatever, and the answer was always like “for 20 mil it better be good, and it’s easier than downloading a dozen tunes and trying them, plus it pops the accolade”
so within a week I was maxed out at 999,999,999 and looking for something to do with my credits. I started buying rare cars at 20 million just to store a few billion in extra garage value. a few times I lost 500 million to market crashes, like with the SVJ, but it’s not real money and it’s a fun way to engage with the game and other players, so whatever. I started reselling rare cars every day at a loss just to keep my credit balance somewhat even, and announcing the auctions here so people could have a chance to get them. if a market did crash, I would gift all the cars to new players, because they’re the only ones likely to look at gift cars. I have 5000 kudos, and I bet at least 500 are from gifted cars, maybe even 1000.
I also used credits to fund people who followed me or joined my club $v$, I would just buy their junk and give it away or scrap it. my right hand man, all he does is snipe cars, that’s what he likes doing. so I buy whatever he has, and pass them along. basically I’ve created a commune inside the Forza economy based around how good I am I make 15 million on a jeep, but I’m throwing that money away steadily to make the game more fun for other people , mostly my club members, but also total strangers.
so when the 300 SLR came out, I saw a great way to spend credits and make people happy by continuing to announce the sales on here, like I did yesterday for 7 of them. when I went to sell though, a temporary ban was in place. and I get it, but any kind of communication would have been nice. this was one of the rare cases where the devs actually messaged me back and explained, but only after I announced the sales and people literally tried and failed to find them.
on this topic, I’d like to see a consistent policy. there shouldn’t be a short window between the Tuesday update and the Thursday season change where you can sell the cars, and if for some stupid reason there is, they should make it more clear to everyone. there’s been a lot of auction house manipulation in this game from the devs, which is fair because there’s been a lot of manipulation by hackers and rich players like me as well. but there’s literally no communication about the rules or pricing. I messaged them in December and asked if I should even be buying and selling modded prize cars, and they ignored me.
long story short, the Forza economy is half-baked and totally tilted toward a small group of people… much like the real economy. I can buy the next 50 prize cars I see and throw them away, and be back on my feet in 24 hours. in a lot of ways, selling my tunes for 20 million is just a convenience tax on other rich players, which I’m helping redistribute to poor players. and if you’re asking yourself why don’t I just share all my tunes and be done with it, it’s because this game demands and rewards engagement, even in the search algorithms. 22 million potential buyers because of the accolade, if it’s not me it’ll be someone else.

Ahhahhahahahha
I’ve been playing this game for 40 hours a week since day one, I’ve actually forgotten how to get to the point
hey guess what you can sell the 300 SLR again. contradicting what McNuggets told me. womp womp. I guess I’ll try again today
So like 3 online races a week?
Actually, I was asking myself why I was still reading at that point, but anyway, if I understand what you’re trying to say: you don’t care about the credits, but you don’t share your tunes bc the game demands a pseudo black market under ground exploitation of the mock economy?
Why not just share everything & gift as much as you can & let it all fall where it may?
(I need more coffee )
I think the gifting system is a great idea, but I’ve noticed a steep decline in “receipts” as the game has progressed. there’s always new players who benefit from gifts, and actively check them, but that number slows down and the daily players dont want or need them. I gave away about 20 NISMO '20 last week, among about 100 total prize cars, and got about 5 total kudos / thank-yous.
at this point gifting is barely better than removing the car from your garage, and way more steps.
as for the tune sharing, I really enjoy rivals, and at any given time I’m driving approx 20 works in progress. sharing them in the traditional sense would be finalizing them, and cutting into the already limited number of file saves. so I make the most recent version available for sale, which is a good temporary or disposable way of sharing them.
Ahh ok. When you’re talking that level of play/engagement, I guess I would fall more within the casual player ranks. I have well over 350 designs & over 100 tunes (all shared) & I thought I had lot Just broke 1000 (non-value added) Kudos & also thought that was a lot lol
I’m very appreciative of my 50 something followers though & those who have downloaded, used & liked my designs & vinyls pushing me to LS. I think I’m still at like level 6 for tuner, but designing has been more my focus.
50 followers is more than 99% of people, even some of the best players are just driving other people’s stuff. keep up the good work.
