I’m pretty new to the game and I’m still trying to figure out a method for maximizing top speeds while walking that thin line of control for the vehicle.
This is my car that I like the most. Yes I know it’s a beginner car, but I’m a Mustang guy so I’m blinded by loyalty.
Currently my car tops out about 242 MPH. It’s setup as an AWD car and I get pretty good take off speeds which is where I usually make my get away in most races. Having said that, I’m also looking to get a bit more top speed out of it as it’s currently built. I’m curious how I might go about doing that?
Removing weight? I think this seems kind of obvious but I don’t know the gains that you get from removing say 50lbs of metal.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Mustang guy myself. I paid cash for my 2014 Mustang GT. Production Date of May. She was the “REAL” 50 year Edition, and last of the Retro Mustangs. I wanted a Boss but they didn’t make them for 2014. Was not interested in the GT500 because they’re not built for handling. So I spent another 10k to bring it up to boss Specs. Love my car. lol.
That said, Mustangs do not get much in the way of love in the game. Just keep playing with it your tune. You’ll get it. And be a purist, get rid of the AWD and stick with building the stock motor.
I’m not a big purist guy. My resto’d 68 has disk brakes, an air conditiooner and 17 inch aftermarket rims. I like the things I like in it and I put them on. I could always take the AWD off it but I actually like that its there.
I owned a 2005 Mustang GT for about 4 years. Got rid of it. Worst decision ever.
