So the Lotus Esprit is literally my favourite car ever made. So I squealed like a little girl when I saw it was the free car this month. I downloaded it, spent almost 4 hours on a paint job for it, took it out for a spin, and found there’s a horrible bug with the car. The acceleration stutters. No matter what upgrades you have, if it’s on manual or automatic, etc, whenever you accelerate the engine sort of goes wem wem wem wem wem and you can see the speedometer and your rev counter just flopping around like a fish out of water. I doubt they’ll ever fix it because there never seems to be hotfixes for this game, but got it broke my heart to drive my dream car and have it completely ruined by some sort of glitch… -_-;
No, It’s different. In that thread, people, myself included, are experiencing another kind of issue (rev sound lag/freeze). This is different, It’s a sort of loop, producing the same weird sound over and over and over again.
I did notice the needle kind of vibrating back and forth as it went up the tach but I did not notice this having any effect on the driving actually. I play with most sound off but I did turn it up to listen - it doesn’t sound too bad but you can tell there is something a little bit off. Again, no adverse effect on driving so…
I just drove it for the first time, in stock condition. The zoom-zoom-zoom-zoom engine sound is crazy annoying. Good thing I don’t plan on driving it anymore than testing it out.
Just tried the Lotus again,not hearing anything wrong. Have put full race exhaust and full air filter upgrades. Have radio off in game running a $2500.00 Denon reciever 7.1 surround with 2 subs so i should hear a problem but i don’t hear anything wrong,i can hear the turbos just fine. Oh yeah i use auto trans.
I think we have established this is not affecting everyone.
I know this is painful but can someone with the severe issue try uninstalling and reinstalling the game and when reinstalling do nothing else on the console.
This will not affect the saved game.
Go to my games and apps and go to FH2.
Press menu and choose manage game. Choose uninstall game only.
Then reinstall it and stay on the queue screen within my games and apps.
Confirmed I’m affected and the issue persists throughout single player and rivals.
Not keen to go to the extreme of uninstalling on my (seemingly) pre ADSL2+ quality line (long story) to troubleshoot however, no other cars from the pack or the rest of the game are similiarly affected.
I’ll wait for it to get fixed, plenty of other cars to keep me occupied for now. Though the Esprit DOES handle like a lucid wet dream - so easy to provoke and hold in a slide and easy to break out of said slides at the right time - it was divine during the finale but I stopped before I got to Castelleto because the sound finally started to get to me.
What it reminded me of is driving with a single passenger side window open and the driver’s side window closed. You get weird sound wave reflections from the driver’s seat because you have a window right next to your ear that sound from outside of the car bounces off into your, err driver’s side ear so that side hears external sounds a fraction of a second after your passenger’s side ear.
With a loud enough exhaust (or even intake noise) that first bounces off walls on the outside of the car, you get the effect of a very choppy pitch sounding engine because by the time the sound of say 4000rpm hits your driver’s side ear, the sound of 4500 rpm is already hitting your passenger’s side ear.
