opps I fixed it tyler13391 all tho if you look in the screenshot the car was 481, I misread the PI facepalm
The 98-02 Trans Am and Camaro are extremely similar. Very small differences, very small.
The Camaro SS and Trans Am came with 3.23 standard with the automatic transmission, while the 6 speed got 3.42’s. The Z28 Camaros, and Formula Firebirds could come with 2.73’s.
The weight of both cars is extremely similar. The headlights on the T/As add very little weight, if any. I’ve had mine removed so I could repair them, and they’re not heavy at all.
Fun fact, you could get a LS1 Camaro ss with a hardtop, but you couldn’t get a Trans Am with a hardtop. You could get a Formula with a hardtop.
These cars are basically mechanically identical GM F body cars. Same chassis, engine, transmission, wheel/tire size. The Firebird WS6 was a clone of the Camaro SS (the cheaper V8 models were the Camaro Z/28 and Firebird Trans Am). So other than different bodywork and a few interior pieces their performance, weight and weight distribution should be nearly identical. At most these should be off by only 15-20 in their performance indexes. I’m sure there would be a small variance in weight and aerodynamics but nothing significant in real world performance.
I’m guessing they got slightly skewed data on one of these cars when they were modelled in game. The engines were rated about 320-325 HP but in real life they were underrated. Dyno results seemed to indicate they got the exact same LS1 as the base model C5 Corvettes. It would be nice in future games if they fixed this and made their performance index the exact same.
I dint loose my mind over stuff like this in Forza anymore. Forza is my fun game. Assetto Corsa and Project Cars I expect realism.
