plus due to race being so short AWD drive launch is a massive advantage … plus stability agains ramming … plus PI advantage like rear tyres weight and rear wing lowering the PI … plus tuning tips like 1/65 anti roll bars that use the massive AWD grip advantage to make the cars take turn that it should be able to … plus tyres that cant handle a lot of power on 2WD … make AWD OP in the game … but its like this IRL … AWD dont wheelspin much … the issues is that the PI does take in count the massive AWD drive advantage (that can be showed IRL by the dominance of AWD cars on some championship like the R32)
This only happens when the AWD isn’t helping at that point in the build, i.e. if the power can be transmitted okay with RWD. Once you’ve upgraded the engine, if you swap back to RWD, you’ll see the PI drop, because you’ve now got enough power to exceed the RWD grip.
RWD can be competitive, I’ve done a slightly faster lap of Bamburgh in the Alfa 33S with Attax Johnson’s RWD tune than the fastest AWD tune I’ve tried. However, I’d use the AWD tune to race online, even though it’s a touch slower if I drive perfectly, as I’d rather have something more forgiving of my mistakes.
I know about the problem on FH3 i hate AWD because on FH3 you need AWD to win and now on FH4 is the same RWD/FWD is harder to tune harder to drive slow launch dont have ramming power is easily rammed and its slower i made some race with AWD FWD RWD some races awd is 10 seconds faster still this AWD to win on begining looks good but after i make some comparisons AWD still overpowered! “its play style” i ever drive RWD/FWD and first time i race with AWD is this crazy difference if this dont be fixed i will never buy another Forza Horizon you dont make idea how much time i espend tuning cars to race side bi side with AWD on FH3 i learned to tune only to beat AWD i made searchs on youtube and forums not only forza but real life tuning just to beat AWD with RWD/FWD and now AWD IS OVERPOWERED AGAIN!!! on FH3 its easier because you make a speed car but now its impossible because FH4 is very full of corners and FWD/AWD dont have grip or acceleration to beat AWD, if my RWD cant beat my AWD time how i will use RWD online? i can still beating noobs but noobs are useless
RWD is actually really good on some tracks. On tracks like the Waterhead sprint, Horizon Festival Sprint, and Derwent Lakeside Sprint AWD only takes up extra PI that could be used on power. Additionally on the first two tracks, the long sweeping corners only make understeer on AWD worse. Finally, AWD is often heavier than RWD. Besides the Peel P50, the extra weight only slows you down on the brakes and mid corner. And that can cause you to understeer off. Ever heard of Bakazato? Also the map is a lot better because handling cars are more viable, so that is why it seems AWD is more OP in this game.
Lol, either you’re a fanboy or you like arcade/simcade. Horizon 4 is better than 3 imo, but it’s still worse than Forza Motorsport, which itself is a simcade.
On topic: I was hoping Horizon 4 would make open world racing possible, but I guess I’ll have to wait some more.
AWD cars are pretty easy to use compared to RWD in higher classes. RWD cars need to be tuned because the default settings in my opinion aren’t that good, especially differentials and front/rear spring stiffness.
