The other day I decided to browse Twitch, and I found a guy doing 81 laps on Spa. He got up to first place, pitted around lap 40-something, letting the second place car pass him. But then something weird happened. The orange icons appeared over the cars ahead of him (first place car, and a couple of lapped cars), and he got the “caution ahead” warning.
The weird thing was, he was behaving like a driver would under a yellow flag in a real life. Slowing right down to safety car speeds, and not overtaking the cars ahead of him, even though he easily could have. And all the other cars were doing the same thing. I’m guessing they were AI cars. He did this for two or three laps while I was watching. It was late, so I ended up closing the stream and going to bed, so I don’t know what happened next.
Am I missing something? I didn’t even know Forza even had caution flags, and I’ve never been penalized for ignoring one. I’ve googled around, and that’s the general consensus.
Is there a game mode where you can enable caution flag rules? Or was he just doing it because he “wanted to”? I mean, he was doing 81 laps on Spa…
