xDeaDxRaCinGx's Championship HLC IV Yarra Valley, Rainforest Grand Sprint, S1 Modern Supercars

xDeaDxRaCinGx in partnership with Maxwell’s Speed Shop is bringing a new series of Hot Lap Challenges. These will be held for roughly 2 weeks per event and all events will be based on a specific Chamionship and involve specific restrictions. I’m hoping these will compliment the current HLC Comps being held by HLR Moss and CFunk2001. Both of which I highly recommend if you aren’t currently participating. Now on to our Comp!

Our first outing will be A Class Retro Muscle, RWD only, stock engine or V8 swap ONLY. The track is Rainforest Escape. A nice rainy track goes well with Moss’ West Mountain Run!

As far as times, post up here. No need to take a pic although all pics, paintjobs, videos, shared tunes, anything you’d like to throw out there, post it up!! We will run this for a couple weeks. As of now, I don’t have much in the way of prize credits although I will see what we can come up with. I’m no HLR Moss but I’m hoping to have the time to crank out some paintjobs for top driver at least, hopefully all 3 podium cars. Work schedule is going to have a roll in that!

WE WILL HAVE PRIZE CREDITS UP FOR GRABS!! THANKS TO YET AGAIN, AND AMAZING, GENEROUS DONOR!!

Good luck, everyone!

RAINFOREST ESCAPE
RETRO MUSCLE, A CLASS, RWD ONLY
Stock engine or V8 swap ONLY

End date August 6th, 2017 midnight. That’s a week from Sunday night, 12am Ohio time, eastern time zone

11 million credits for 1st, plus paint of choice

8 million for 2nd, plus paint of choice

6 million for 3rd, plus paint of choice

1 million bonus for a top 10 time
10 million bonus for LEGIT number 1 spot

Got to have a go at this one

2:25.812 in a Plymouth Prowler. Pretty conservative with the power, although I did swap to a 6.2L V8. RWD of course but I felt the need to run Street Compound tyres

This is some of Zepp’s excellent work in the paintshop.

Here is the paint that Dagnammit won in the HLR HLC, I should have run Zepp’s LOL.

Thank you for giving it a go Wan! I’ll be chasing you in a little bit! I forgot to leave a reserved spot for leaderboard updates but i will add them to the OP for now.

And a big thanks to HLR Moss and CFunk2001 for being cool with xCriMinaLx and I starting these up along side theirs!! I’m sure we’ll be able to figure something out as far as prizes of some sort. I don’t have the eye for sweet race liberties like Moss, I have more the hotrod, street car style but would be happy do what I can to make something cool and unique.

Thanks Moss!! Nice run!

For my next car I went for the Buick Regal, painted it with my latest Valvoline livery which I have shared.

This car had a bit less handling but more power and I improved my time to 2:23.443. I stuck with similar build to the Prowler with RWD, 6.2L V8, Street Compound tyres.

The stats for this car were 518 hp, 518 ft-lb, 2894 lb, 52%, 6539 cc. Speed 7.1 Handling 6.9, Acceleration 8.8, Launch 8.5, Braking 7.2

I know when Criminal gets going this time will seem slow LOL.-

Edit: After dropping to stock springs I managed to trim the weight to 2876 lbs and set a new PB of 2:22.843

Same car but slightly better lines and getting used to the track, I’ve managed to get into the top 100

New PB in the Buick Regal of 2:20.941.

Awesome DZ, can’t wait to jump in to some old muscle and see what happens.

I will try to get a time in tonight, but replying and updating is taking longer than expected.

 Very cool comp DZ!

My preliminary runs with a 1993 Ford SVT Cobra R got me to a 02:26.079 for the time being.

Took another run this morning and managed a slight improvement to #81 in 2:20.674. I now need to learn all the sections where you can afford to cut corners and get wheels off the tarmac. The last tight right hander is also very important to get right since it is flat out for a very long way to the finish.

Just throwing this out there, I’ve got a few paintjobs for a few of the cars we’re using, if there’s any of those that podium people would want, I can do something personalized on one of those if that sounds interesting. Whatever ends up working out, open to whatever!

Cool contest DZ. Threw a few different retros at the course and found the ZR-1 Vette to be a good one. Stock engine w/ turbo

2:27.414, with lots of room to improve

I may have missed it in the OP but should we assume clean laps only?

After a chat with PRKid I was advised to try rear aero. Although not convinced at first, on my second run using rear aero set at Min I took a second off my PB in the Buick Regal GNX LOL.

New PB 2:19.606, leaderboard position #69

Setup is shared as A800 RWD if anyone wants to give it a try.

The Buick Regal is one of my favorite cars, yet, I had not used it in H3, so, I gave it a try. Ran with a similar build as Moss, and, managed a 2:22.376. Need some more practice and also try a couple of other cars.

I’m convinced now. Criminal drove past me as I was setting a new PB: 2:18.639 for leaderboard #53. I know it won’t last but I’m happy for a short time LOL. Valvoline must oil the wheels
