Forza 6 (edit) still has a problem. I have a Thrustmaster TX Italia wheel controller. The first one was bad, Thrustmaster sent a replacement that seems good. It functions properly on PC, updated to latest firmware, installed wheel drivers, works properly with my PC racing sims like Project CARS, RaceRoom, Assetto Corsa etc. Buttons assignable, FFB settings, wheel rotation settings all work correctly.
XBox won’t recognize that a controller is plugged in at all, but will function with Forza 6 Ultimate Edition on a basic “generic wheel” level. Button assignments like view, menu, paddle shifters work correctly, and XB button works. Wheel rotation range, pedals, and FFB strength settings all work. FFB response in game is strange. Edit: deleted F6 demo and this seems to have reduced the “wig out” effect somewhat. Formerly, the car would become nearly uncontrollable in turns, as if FFB data was confused or exaggerated. It’s still a pain but at least I can race without crawling around all the tracks. The XBox still doesn’t recognize the TX controller is plugged in after reboot, or that any controller is active.
Forza 6 exhibited some other bugs. D-pad left and right becomes unresponsive at random times. Exiting out of paint shop and re-entering usually fixes, but sometimes I have to restart XBox. Wheel manufacturers logos in wheel selection page finally began displaying last night after several days of play. In a time trial, the wheel assignments changed, paddle shifters did strange things like performed rear view when held. Once or twice, the game hung on a loading screen and XB had to be turned off.
If there is a way to save the game file (cars, liveries, vinyl groups), I could delete Forza 6 itself and redownload it, assuming this will solve everything. But if the XBox uses a Windows-like registry, I may be hosed.
