xbox controller and a steeringwheel connected at once?

I run Forza 7 on a windows 10 computer, with an xbox controller and a thrustmaster ts-pc wheel/pedal connected at once. When playing forza i just want to pick up the controller and play a little, but that seems impossible as the steering wheel/pedals makes inputs i can’t get forza to “ignore”. Forza has allways been a “controller” game for me, so i don’t really want to use the thrustmaster setup, also i do not want to unplugg it, as windows as unplugging/plugging it in again, can get the controller id to change, making me have to set up all my other driving sims again (and that is out of the question).

Is there a way to get Forza to ignore the inputs of the thrustmaster wheel/pedal setup? If not Forza7 gets uninstalled and forgotten under the label “stupid things you buy on black friday offerings”…

I dont know if that has something to do with your setup but for me everything works as expected:

Wheel + Controller + Keyboard connected before game starts.
Tested If I can use all three input methods transition free for navigation in menus: YES
Tested If I can use all three input methods transition free while driving: YES

The game behaves like this:
Use the input device as primary which sends data.

So If I press a button on controller the control scheme switches to controller ( you could see all shown keybindings in menus switch to controller layout).
If I press a key on keyboard the control scheme switches to keyboard and the same happens if I press any button, pedal or rotate the wheel.

Unless your wheel is constantly sending inputs to the game, and constantly overriding the controller scheme forth and back , this should be no issue.
Only issue I know that the shown keybindings for wheels (even if they are officially xbox supported and have all the buttons) are wrong ( they show bindings for keyboard instead of xbox controller)

EDIT:
Maybe you should check if your wheel centering is correct and if it stays at 0. Could be that its switching between 0° and 1° the hole time and causing this odd issue.

Seems like the FF starts throwing the wheel around and then everything is f**ked… If there is no way to unbind the thrustmaster from Forza it is utterly unplayable. (and playing it with the wheel is pretty crap compared to iRacing, Assetto Corsa, Project cars 2 and the other games/sims i usually run, and there even seems to (atleast visually) be some imput lag when using the thrustmaster).

I totally agree to the second part of your post. I tried it with wheel and I feel like its destroying your feeling for driving so that its affect my performance in real sim games like AC, ACC, Dirt Rally or even codemasters F1 games.
For me FM was and will always be a best to play with controller. Heck even the “feeling” while braking, accelerating and turning with a controller is better than the nebulous and loose feeling FFB for wheels.

For your issue, may you can try to configure your wheel in fm7 and turn down every FFB and ramp up the deadzones to the max, dont know if this will work but in theory this should filter all inputs out since the deadzone is now 100% and inputs won’t recognized as a command.
