The controller setup requires me to map keys that I don’t use - such as Quick Chat, Activate Anna, and Activate - so there is no key left on a standard XBox controller to enable me to map Telemetry or Telemetry Previous. So I cant get started on Tuning.
I did a lot of tuning on FM7, would like to try it in FH4.

Swap Anna for Telemetry. Under advanced layout settings
Its not under Advanced settings unless you are using the Default layout. After further googling it seems they removed that option in update 13.
That’s true, it was a big change. I have it set from the release and currently I am not able to tune it. It’s broken.
I am also experiencing this issue. I’ve tried every combination, but can’t find a way to have every required input and telemetry.
I have opened tickets about this on their issue tracker,
and just had them closed with no comment.

This is a little late to reply but I map it to pushing LS in and that works for me you . You don’t have to map telemetry next or previous because once you pull it up you can just use your D-pad. You could also always switch something you don’t use to LS and then put telemetry to your preferred key.
It’s actually worse than you think.
If you leave Telemetry Next and Telemetry Previous unassigned, they automatically use dpad-Left and dpad-right when telemetry is open, regardless of the other bindings those buttons have.
But, if you explicitly bind buttons to Next and Previous,. they are no longer usable for other bindings.
The most stupid thing is, if your difficulty settings are manual, or manual + clutch, the custom layouts don’t care and let you save a layout with these bindings un-set.
