We have just got Mitsubishi I doubt PGG will be able to just get Toyota to co-operate immediately because it simply doesn’t work like that. The only Toyota’s worth anything are the 2000 GT, Celica and Supra. The onus is on Toyota to do something not PGG. If it is that much of an issue then contact Toyota and request they work with PGG/T10 so they can be implemented into the game.
So has anybody found out the truth on why Toyota left in the first place? You know I’ve been looking around and the rumor of no modifications could be justified, I mean who at this moment has their license?
The only one I can honestly think of is GT:Sport and in that game Visual Customization is almost non existent. My question is could Turn 10 get the license without visual or at least with only TRD parts? Also would the Forza community be willing to accept that if indeed that is the reason we can’t get the license???
I mean I personally don’t modify my cars at all, so I could deal with it, but I’m sure there are some who can’t. So in other words modify or bust lol.
Oh and btw, I kinda like the new Supra. I’m sure it’ll be a classic soon.
If that’s the reason it is extremely stupid of PG not to bring at least the AE86 to the game. It would mostly be used for drifting and A class racing and you don’t need aero for that.
I think the reason why Toyota only is in GT Sport is nationalism.
I dont belive customization is reason why dont toyota be in forza. Toyota isnt be in dirt series either and there is not even any customization. I found old article that toyota is blaming video games that car sale is dropping Toyota Exec: Realistic Video Games Make Cars Unnecessary So maybe there is reason why toyota dont want license their road cars in video games.
Haha you know what’s really funny about that? They put the Supra in Gran Turismo Sport. Why is that funny? It’s because GT:Sport has VR support and is nearly photo realistic graphics wise. Why the hell did Toyota put their cars in the most photo realistic game if they think realistic video games are the reason their sales are falling? They must be some kind of stupid.
Anybody else think that the whole reason that Toyota is bringing the Supra name back is to go along with their 2020 updated body that will run in Nascar. With Chevy’s Camaro and now Ford’s Mustang it would make sense. I know that the Xfinity is going to run the Supra but I am not sure about CUp.
Starting price I believe is 50k who knows what it’ll be fully kitted out.
I like the fact that it’s engineered mainly but BMW. They make great cars, M2 competition, M3, M6, M4, Z4, M5, M8 (though not released yet looks stunning) to name a few. Their engines are also pretty stellar for what they are. Plus I’m sorry but Toyota have a nack of making pretty nasty interiors. The older Supras were especially terrible inside. So I’m happy the car actually has a nice interior too.
Though I have to admit, for the price, I think I’d rather a fully kitted out M2 competition for $60k. Here’s the thing though the MK4 Supra in 1996 was like $40 to $50k back then. Adjusted for inflation that’s about $65 to $80k nowadays. Makes the new supra seems pretty reasonable to me honestly.
Here in Germany the new Supra will start at 62.900€ and is only available with the 350bhp Z4 engine. The new Z4 with the same engine starts only 500€ above that, has the same configuration and comes as a convertible. The Supra is definitely on the more expensive side. A better configurated M2 competition or my own 2018 TT-RS are cheaper and more sporty.
I guess the “exotic” nature of the Supra leads to the price premium.
The new Supra will be a hell of a car to drive though. Stiffer chassis than a LFA, shorter wheelbase than a GT86 & probably close to a 50 / 50 weight distribution because it’s partly engineered by BMW.
The name is why it has the premium imo. If it was called something like the GT2000 I guarantee It’d have been 5k cheaper. Then again what company doesn’t do that? New Ford GT is another good example.
I would have guessed the original MSRP of 4th gen Supras to be equivalent to 35-40 in today’s money. Similar to an STi or 370z with a couple options. Performance cars are cheaper than they used to be. But they aren’t MKIV Supras.
