Definitely. It is pretty much pointless to try and do any online races. The lobbies ALWAYS have at least one cheater or rammer out to ruin everyone else’s experience.
I tried to do a the tour last night. I am by no means the fastest driver, nor are my cars the best tuned, but I have top 1% times on nearly every track.
My first attempt was at “A anything goes” cross country.
I spent the majority of the race at the stadium cross country circuit in 2nd behind a VERY well-driven Boneshaker. Halfway through the second lap, without either of us being passed on screen, we were suddenly running 2nd and 3rd, and not even 5 seconds later the countdown started.
On the recap screen, it showed an Alfa GTA winning by 24 seconds. I was giving it my all, and the player in the Boneshaker was not leaving anything on the table, either- so almost being DNF’ed by a guy who never even moved at the start (I had to drive around his vehicle) and never once passed either of us is more than a little suspect.
I noped out of there. If they want to cheat they can do it alone.
I also tried “A Super Saloons”- I wasn’t running my fastest car, and got held up by the AI for a few seconds, but I was running solid mid-to-low 52 second laps at Lookout circuit. we all got beat by a Cadillac Limo, who won by 15 seconds. A little weird, but given the circumstances, plausible- until we got to the drive to the next track. I was the lead car heading down the hill towards the 90 degree right turn heading into town. that’s when the countdown started. I get to the marker, and it’s the Limo- who never passed anyone in the lead group (there were 3 of us) on the way sitting there.
There is a near zero percent chance he got there legitimately.
Once again, I dipped out.
The inaction of the devs is quickly becoming legendary.
All of the leaderboards in the game, half of the tunes, and most of the online play is filled with cheaters, and the only action the devs are willing to take is deleting any thread that brings it up.
You can report them until you’re blue in the face, and other than a generic “actions have been taken” email, nothing happens (I guess moving the report to the recycle bin is technically an action).
