If I was to go offline and change my system date so that I can play in a different season to the one currently active, can I get banned from online for doing this?
Any change to your game is strictly speaking against the terms and conditions.
Why do you want to change the season?

It’s not a change to the game. I’m not changing the code, I am just changing my system date. Somebody could accidentally do this is their computer internal clock isn’t working or something.
As somebody said below I prefer certain seasons. I don;t want to be forced to drive in snow for an entire week, but sometimes I might want to, so I would rather choose when I can with the game, instead of just waiting 3 weeks. The other thing is, if I go offline, change the date and never go back online on my computer at all until I have changed it back, is it actually possible for them to know. At the end of the, day I don’t care if it is against the rules or not, I just want to know if it is possible that I could get banned.
If you don’t care if it’s against the rules, why the concern about a ban?

Because I don’t want to be banned. I mean my concern is being banned. If I am doing something that is technically against the rules but it is impossible for Microsoft to detect it then I am fine with that, as long as I can;t be banned.
At least you’re not talking about it on a developers forum…

my guess is that he likes once season more over another so he doesn’t want to wait three more weeks to play that one again
I don’t think this will work, I guess this is controlled by the servers.
It does work, as it is controlled by your system date. Otherwise seasons wouldn’t change offline. I think it works on XBox One as well.
Not sure how the seasons could be changed just by changing the date. The game structure and events all change with each season. It would severely mess up seasonal event updates, DLC etc. as they are all tied to the season you’re in. I doubt Microsoft would let the game be messed up just by someone changing the date. If you want to race in a certain season just blueprint a bunch of races for that season.

The seasons are set up based on a date that Microsoft has on their server. If you go offline and change your system date it will change the season.
For example if this week is winter, if you go back a week you will be in Fall if you go forward a week you will be in Spring. This works on both PC and Xbox.
I don’t see anything wrong with this as it only affects your single player game and in no way affects other players. Since you are offline you are unable to play with other people or participate in things that would be online such as special events or auction house.
I can see someone wanting to change this. For example I don’t always have the opportunity to play the game and if I’m able to get on this week and don’t want to spend the entire week of driving around in winter it would be nice being able to change the season.
people have done this in the past and have messed up their achievements. .for example with the seasonal barn finds , changing seasons to get them before they were due and then wonder why their achievement never popped
they have also done it to get the car pass cars earlier as well and then wonder why they have issues when they go back online
What kind of issues? I don’t care about achievements so if that is it then there are basically no issues for me.
