Test Drive Unlimited 1 comes to mind. Amazing game, in some aspect is still better than any of the Horizons, and I love each and every one of those. But I fondly remember that it had this simple yet amazing feature to move the seat back and forth and up and down while in cockpit view.
I wonder why not only Forza but any other games don’t do that? Not only that, but they often choose the worst view possible, and you just have to deal with it. Driveclub sometimes have the camera in position where you can’t see the gauges clearly, or The Crew overall has driver just rubbing his nose on the steering wheel, it’s too close, not to mention the wheel turns like 90 degrees to each side. I know it’s more like a gripe than a question, but I honestly wonder why this feature just doesn’t appear in many of the racing games including Forza?
P.S.: Also sorry if there is a similar topic already, if there is I didn’t see it.
I WISH, oh how I wish they had an FOV slider in the game. I don’t like the zoomed out look of the game - it makes everything look weird and minature golf-like. Objects around the car and track appear smaller than they should, the car themselves even look smaller than they ought to. And in cockpit, you can view almost the entire dash as if you’re sitting on the edge of the rear seat.
Please T10, pay heed to our concerns!
There are still so many cars in FM6 with the FOV zoomed out and way too high as if the driver’s head is constantly bonking the roof. In the Audi LMS race car, the M1 Pro race car, Diablo road car and BMW Z4 GT3 race car for instance, the FOV is so high that the steering wheel is not only obstructing the dash readouts but it appears the driver has short legs and is using a large cushion to elevate his seat ride height!
Yeah Test Drive Unlimited 1 was a nice game, but when I think about the GPS voice that sounded like a woman that reached her menopause, I rather stick to the Horizon series.
Anyway, beside the seat position slider it would be cool if we could look around in the whole car. Like in GTA 5 first Person mode.
