Why the next update is the most critical in the history of FM2023

The only thing from this that they fixed was it saving progress consistently now…unless its paint booth, then you better save to car every 5min or risk it messing up and you losing your progress. Game still freezes/kicks to dashboard pretty often. It also fails to save a lot of things/reverts it to default settings, some things doing it now that didnt do it before.

Eh, I think the game is still better than it was at launch in my experience. Especially after they made it so you can buy upgrades with credits.

The game has improved since launch for sure, but there is nothing for the single player to do. Removing fomo events is the single biggest mistake they have made, that and shipping with only a small amount of tracks. But that was by design to keep people clinging to the hope every update that ‘their favorite track’ would be added. EVO can’t come soon enough, I’m fed up with these devs, and their lack of passion for their fanbase.

@T10ManteoMax We really need that :pensive:

It’s also my hope that T10 is holding back the drifting game mode until a proper track for drifting is completed. And I hope reimagined Fujimi-Kaido (Hakone Mountain or whatever it’s going to be called) is that track. That’d be one hell of an update

Now it freezes after every event if you go back to the main menu IMO that is worse.

At version 8.0 it was the most stable for me.

My game freezes from time to time and that’s frustrating issue too, agreed (T10 really should have released a hotfix after Update 10). But at least now we don’t need to repeat the entire race (or even several races) when it happens

If I do rivals it freezes EVERY time I go back to the main menu.

Yes, what have we actually gained in the 10 months since launch:

  • 5 new tracks (all of which are recycled)
  • Circa 20-30 new cars (a lot of which are re-cycled)
  • A radar

I struggle to think of anything else that’s been added.

They added lots and lots of bugs. The loadscreen freezes, the matte liveries bug, the pit exit bug, fuel doesn’t get consumed anymore. And all of this in the last 2-3 months.

Don’t forget the TAA toggle!

i would say update 12 as at that point its almost been a complete year and frankly we havent gotten any content of value the whole time. Thats the make or break one to me

Why Update 11? I don’t get it.

The Update 13 on the 10th October is more important.

The game has been released on the 10th October 2023, it’s exactly one year on the market then.

The Update 12 will be released on the 12th September, just for completions sake.

These are 2 weird coincidences.

Games like this run on a schedule that is planned out well in advance. The bulk of the updates were planned long before release, probably with some overhead to include bugfixes, minor changes, and enough flexibility to add major updates like the car levelling change and proximity radar.

Updates are a heavily managerial thing that are mostly about budgets, labour availability, annual plans and goals, and pre-arranged deliverables. For the most part, expecting a huge change of plans at this stage is a mistake. Look towards year 2 for a major change of direction.

Don’t get your hopes up if update 11 was special they would have already dropped something.

Don’t expect more than what was given in the latest ones, a circuit that should already be starting and two or three cars that will be one new and two recycled.

And it will still disappoint

Because the next update is for me the one that lets me decide if i will continue playing FM 2023 or forget it because the game is almost one year old already and nothing in the game is better. Real content is still missing and i’m losing my patience.

I’ve waited long enough and there are other, better games waiting that are really worth my little spare time.

No kidding… Is that why there’s no good featured multiplayer class lobbies this week?

With the new agile code, isn’t it should be easy to do something about that ?
