Why is PGG so obsessed with adding features that no one cares about?

Also tried turning it off but for some weird reason it always gets itself back in there…

Hey @luckeydoug1 you say features such as car horns, clothes and dance emotes are big issues for you but you didn’t explain why.

My argument was simply players should focus on discussing major features and not waste their breath on minor features like car horns, etc.

Forza Link chat for example is a major chat feature which everyone including myself hates with a passion so is worthy of discussion as the vast majority would prefer it was removed or reverted back to FH4 system.

But car horns, clothes and dance emotes are small features IMO and don’t have much if any impact on the game except for optional cosmetics/sound. Don’t like car horns? Don’t honk horn. Don’t like clothes? Don’t dress your avatar. Don’t like dance emotes? Don’t pick one. Don’t like this stuff appearing in wheel spins? Then fair enough, maybe create a thread about it to add to the list of 100 identical threads that have been ignored by the developers to date.

So why are these small features major issues for you and how should these change? And why are these more important to discuss then all major features in this game such as online racing, convoys, eliminator, leaderboards, tuning, car garage, etc.

12 months from now would you be happy if the game remained unchanged except they removed all car horns, clothes and dance emotes? That’s assuming that’s what you want because again you haven’t mentioned why. If so then let’s leave things here as I don’t agree whatsoever.

I guess he was just stating how pointless and annoying they are both in wheelspins and just to look at. Most of the people that use them are probably kids - what real racer (as in IRL) shows up in a chicken suit or does some ridiculous dance ?
Just want the option to swap them for something that I’d rather have (CR , FP) instead of something I’ll never ever use.
Agree that they need to fix the major issues before bringing any more of this into the game.

As said previously - ForzaLink, Quickchat needs to go. Least interactive games (FH4 & FH5) since it was brought in. Go back to proper people to people interaction like we had before this pointless rubbish that serves no purpose.

Problem with voice chat is that you would only use it with friends unless you’re one of those who likes to mentally abuse other players.

I made quite a few friends on voice chat. You just keep out of the bad discussions and talk to people who just want to be friendly and make some conversation.

In that case you can already do that. Unless you really want those random people there to direct some salt to.

Agree - you can - if you can find anybody.
And no - I don’t send Salt on voice chat - just looking for like-minded players to chat to.
Everybody uses Chat / Link now instead of engaging with players without the button option. Which is also usually Salt comments.

The problem is the other players horn you but you cant turn these cosmetics item off like the car design.

Sometimes these cosmetics are so mess up it ruined the feeling/emotion to the players.

Just like you want to play a world-war-shooter-game
Then the character saying dumb things like this:

(Go seach 2042 lines vs older bf. lots of F word so i dont post here)

With a colorful rainbow machine gun and santa skin.

Like you aren’t going to get in trouble for posting that.

If 1 day this game added colorful tire smoke, tires and tire mark please let me turn it off.
Except in drift.

In need for speed payback the color tire smoke are so huge it block vision like FH5 did.

I want to stop message spamming from others but in the other hand I need to say “sorry” sometime.
So I got stuck in the middle I have turn msg on and got spam.

@Maidoll this is good feedback as you’re at least stating why you don’t like these things. As you have suggested there’s a happy balance where the introduction of various settings could fix issues for some players without removing the feature that other players like.

Tire smoke should differently be toggable on or off.

Car horns too if that really bothers you. Default to on.

Clothing and car horns should be removed from wheel spins but should not be removed from the game. If players want to dress up their characters then let them. Otherwise don’t force these minor features onto other players such as through wheel spins. Enough players have already complained about this that it should just be actioned already.

The key point I see here is a lack of configurable options which would be a great feature request and should be something feasible for them to implement in the near future.

I am 50 years old and have so far only met a single person driving nude, he danced as he was arrested

I mean i want an option to turn the horns to defualt/standard in some mode but not fully off.
I dont mind horns in other open mode or playground games but I dont want duck sound and song in race.
And maybe with a cool-down so people cant spam it.

I still want to keep some of the basic comminicate fuction in case of someone using to “talk” to me.

And maybe let me quickly disable someone visual/horns/lines if he is spammming/annoying

Ehhh I hear you but I don’t see a happy balance here.

They could prevent horns from being spammed but what’s the threshold? The police siren for example can last a good 10 or so seconds with a single long press. If you put a threshold of say 3 honks in a row then that’s a good 30 seconds of listening to the police siren.

Technically they could add a config to change how other car horns sounds to be less childish and more realistic but I would say this is very very low priority.

In terms of Forza Link chat I think the vast majority of players would prefer to roll back to the system in FH4. This would be a hard sell for the developers though as they marketed it as being a game changer and would need to admit what they implemented is not what the players want.

They aren’t going to alter the horns, you may as well get used to them.

I agree but I’m interested to hear why people feel strongly that these things are important issues to address.

See the thing is with those championships is that I never had any incentive to do them once I finished the game… I just went around playing with tunes. I don’t mind the online bits of the new game since it really doesn’t change anything, and I always have Horizon Solo if I want to run into traffic (lol). Online being broken, however, I can agree with.

I never understood why people seemed to think the “story” in Horizon 1 was good… it was generic and uninteresting (to a point that it may as well never have existed). The only interesting element is beating an annoying opponent (what’s the big baddies name? Don’t remember)

A lot of the online issues come from the lack of a driver safety rating system. I want to race against people who can actually drive, not crash into walls and wallride.

Maybe let me set a cool-down then I stop hearing it after few spam. (the other players still can use it)
Or maybe put a small icon or log at corner like “players1: horn” like many online game did.

This is a complex topic about artistic choice on a game style.
If Horizon is more cartoon-ish I dont mind that much about the funny horns/emote stuff.

“play of the game emote” suit overwatch but I dont like it in a war shooter.

I think horizon are more suitable with item like
differnt GT wing and end plates and arms.
wheels nut
tire paint(pirelli red ring)
brake cap
seats/seat belt type and color

look at crew2

If this thing apper in horizon I may stop buying this game.

I see. I hate to say it but if they added cosmetic stuff like that then they may lose several players such as yourself but they would gain far far more players through avenues such as gamepass.

FH5 definitely is tailored to all players. As such they can’t make everyone happy but they can allow players to play the game they want to an extent by adding options/configurations. Currently the amount of configurations that exist in this game is very minimal.

I also hate to say it but that image you posted above looks cool to me lol.

While Horizon 1’s story wasn’t exactly original, it at least provided structure, which, for some reason, people confuse structure and progression for grinding. Defeating an annoying character was just symbolic of you moving on and up in the world, and that sense of moving up and on is non-existent in 3 and 5, and is a rather short journey in 2 and 4.
