Why hasn't anyone complained about how far the speedometer in this game?

Probably has problems walking and talking/breathing at the same time.

If you’re using speedometer as reference for anything, you’re doing it wrong.

I remember my dad gifted me a copy of NASCAR Racing 2 back in the day. I was a kid so I couldn’t enjoy the game to the fullest, but one notable thing about those stock cars was the tachometer in the center. Prior to that I thought the speedometer was more important. I was wrong obviously as spirited driving revolves around the tachometer.

And, so far, I have yet to see a wrong tachometer reading in this game.

However, there are a few cars without tachometers, mostly ones that were never supposed to be raced at all, such as Rolls-Royces, Lincolns and the like.

Speed in racing is more felt than read. The speedometer is almost not necessary except when tuning.

A lot of pretty rude people in this thread. How about you all go help a neighbor do something they can’t do just to be kind to someone?

Much more constructive than bullying a poster, wouldn’t you think?

It goes both ways.

People have been rude to him, yes, but most of these people who complain (OP included) come here and talk rubbish about the game in a very rude manner as well. At some point we become very tired of dealing with people who lack manners and think they can freely trash talk here without any consequences.

It’s a forum, where discussions happen. The thing is, you don’t have to “deal” with anything, that’s what moderators are for right? Let them handle anything that breaks the ToS.

Oh no, someone dares to voice a complaint! Better attack them for it!

How do we help a neighbour when they are stepping over our garden boundary? Probably the best first post in reply would be to point the OP to the wish list thread? The speedo isn’t important to the majority, surely a post asking why people aren’t complaining about it should be considered trolling. Only admins can control that, the rest of us can only feed them,

I never really felt the need to look at the speedo unless I was trying to complete one of those max speed achievements, in time you will do the same.

To be honest I hardly ever look at the speed unless it is a speed challenge that I have to get over a certain speed on a certain course with a certain car. NASCAR does not have a speedometer in the cars anyway. It really is kind of by feel. What gear are you in and what are the engine revs at and you can tell by sound what the revs are at. You can tell if your car is in the right gear too by the sound of the engine. It takes practice and you have to know the car and track.

In real life day to day driving well you have to look at your speedometer once in a while and yes you have to take your eyes off the road for just a second. Until all cars get huds and by that time they will all be self driving anyway.

While driving, try hitting the down arrow on the dpad to bring up telemetry data. I personally find it to be too obtrusive to use full time, but it will put speed and RPM data to the left of center screen. That might be a bit easier to glance at while racing. It may also help to check the picture size on your TV. I have to change mine from natural to native or else the outside edge is cropped, and both the speedo and telemetry data are further from the center.

Not sure what you mean on this one. While I’m racing it will keep track of my best lap for that race and then run splits against it. Keep in mind that a slower clean lap will overwrite a faster dirty one, so maybe that’s what is going on?

This post summs up what is wrong with the forza community, i personaly drive with hud off , first person view , we have 2 now and im happy that most race cars hace a nice readout . but others drive third person view , and some people have different vision . it would be easy to move the Speedo to the center , but t10 has become lazy disconnected morons that put 700 trophy trucks in an on track racing game …

In real life, I only look at the tach on my race car and racebike very very little, relying on shift lights I can see out of the corner of my eye. I don’t know if it’s just something I’m used to looking for, but the gear will turn orange when you are hitting red line. I can see that out of the corner of my eye and be able to shift then. I’ve been playing Forza since the first though, so maybe I’m just so used to it. But it’s a handy way to be able to shift without looking away.
