Why can't we use the cars from the fast and furious pack and other cars in career mode?

Yea ive done all the volumes and all I see is the same line-up of cars on each series so thats going to get boring quick. Not a fan of endurance races but if im bored for hours ill probably do it; Cant use the cars online because of the lame career restrictions ill have to upgrade or get a new car lol.

If they fix that issue with the cars and free play it won’t be over. I just can’t believe it was not an oversight. I won’t say I’ll never buy another Forza game again because I love the game, but I will never pre-order a Forza game again if they don’t atleast fix it so we can use all the cars in the game. It’s more about principal than anything else because every unusable car is someone’s favorite, might as well not have the car at all if it can’t be used in the whole game.

This is a shocker. I hadn’t bought the F&F DLC so wasnt that concerned, however now I read that other cars in game can’t be used in career mode due to the class they are in. This is unbelievably short sighted in my book as I like others here do not race online except rivals.

I think we’ll have to have regular threads on DLC to see which of those cars we can actually use in career and therefore whether it’s worth getting at all

I have no interest in simulation racing in a car with a 36-speed transmission, and altogether completely unrealistic attributes.

Haha. :stuck_out_tongue:

Lol, Fast and Furious, if it was only those, it wouldn’t be as bad, I’d still be mad cause I bought the pack, but the problem is there are cars that were part of the game to begin with, not dlc, and they’re unusable in career. That is only one of many problems as stated above and no patch as of yet.

I have a spreadsheet myself as well with all the cars in it. Most cars belong to 1 devision but some cars belong to 2 devisions as well. For example the Subaru Impreza 22B STI belongs to both Rally Day Heroes and Japanese Kings.

Below is the full list of cars (assorted from high to low PI) that don’t belong to any devision, so you can not race them in career mode. In the end it’s not such a big deal IMO since you can still use them online or in free race.

At first I looked at this list and was quite taken aback, but then I realized that only a handful of these are cars I’d really want to race, anyway; weird stuff like the Willys, Type II and Wagoneer, well, I’ve got Horizon for that. It’s just weird that they’d spend all this time working on the cars, and they’re basically only able to work with 1/2 of the game: multiplayer, which I’m not interested in.

Kinda gutted about the Alpine, FnF cars, open wheelers (you have open wheelers in the game, and you can’t use one of the world’s most popular–the Ariel-- in career? What is the point?), and old Ferrari and Auto Union cars, though. Was rally looking forward to taking those through career mode. Still can’t understand why T10 has gone this way. Seems really strange and shortsighted to me.

Not a big deal?

wut.

You can’t even use the Auto Union cars either which sounds incredible in game…then why the hell were they added, just for online and free mode? So rubbish :\ Why limit the car roster!! That’s 50 cars you can’t use which is tragic, and with DLC packs, probably more you can’t use to come. Sure, you can setup/replicate career mode in freeplay and do online and everything else but that’s not the point…it’s a limitaiton for no good reason and it sucks! It’s a game…it doesn’t need to be super super OTT realistic.

Like here is some showcase ideas to include these cars, or divisions they could be in:

  • World War 2 and Post War Multi Class Racing Event: In this special event, choose from cars like the WIllys Jeep, Mercury CTS-V, F-100 and others in one division, and the Auto Union D, Maserati 8CTF and other such cars, in a nail biting division race around a classic world war track
  • FF Showcase division multi class event: Race the FF cars against rivals in this action packed race, avoiding the slow moving traffic which must weave between slaloms, can you complete an entire lap before the slower vehicles complete the slalom?
  • Road Warriors event: Feautring the Gurkha URUS, Bowler, LM002, Syclone, Bronco, Transit, Defender, Hummer etc etc…in a big v big multiclass event battle showcasing larger than life vehicles

And many more. I know it’s not Horizon, but if these are going to be put in game then surely give them a use!

Couldn’t agree more - having cars in game that don’t have a use is just stupid, and a first for Forza (ignoring the two Forzavista only cars in FM4).

In FM4, (and FH2 for that matter) you could pick your car, no matter how it was configured and then easily find a race that suited.

Now, you pick a race and try to find a car that suits.

It’s not actually geared for a car lover anymore.

FM4 and FH2 are my favorite Forza games because of what you described above. FM4 is what got me away from the other top console simulator because I loved that I could choose a car configured however I wanted and race. I love FM6 but it’s starting to be like that other game which is not good.

On a positive note, I played with some of the cars like the 79 Camaro, the F&F Corvette, Charger, and Supra in free play yesterday. I set up the races like career races in the options menu and had fun. It doesn’t totally make up for the career oversight with so many cars, but atleast you can use them in something similar to career races. It goes from 1 race to the next seamlessly and you still progress as a player, there’s just no sense of completing anything.

I also wanted to thank the person who posted the list of cars that are not usable in career as well as the ones that appear in more than one race type. It’s very appreciated.

You nailed it there, that is EXACTLY what I was thinking as well. And what I really dislike is that the AI drivers don’t adapt to your car anymore, instead YOU have to adapt to their PI. I mean common Turn 10, was this game made for the players or for the drivatars?? It’s really frustrating if you appreciate the classic cars in their stock form, it’s so wrong to upgrade a +/- 300-400 car to a PI of 500 to race it competitive, it completely destroys the spirit of the car. I don’t want to drive super cars, I want to drive cars as authentic as it can be. Don’t force me to upgrade or change parts classic cars, grrrr. :frowning:

In FH2 if you drove the stock Willys MB in a rally event all the opponents were stock Willy MB’s as well.

Exactly. Can’t agree more.

This is a good post.

And by the way guys, I’m pretty sure Mercury doesn’t make a “CTS-V Coupe.” Cadillac would certainly like to talk to them otherwise.

And the sad thing is, it’ll be like that for the next 3 games, even when they brag about everything being redone. Once they make a mistake it sticks for multiple entries and sometimes forever.

I wish they had an option in career mode where it was just a Class-Only race (like how they had in the 5 previous games). I miss being able to race my old classic cars verses ferrari’s. I know I can technically do it in Free Play but it far from the same. The Free play isnt against my friends Drivatars and none of the cars have paint jobs (so mines is the only one that is painted and looks different). The only way to get passed this is to use GT or P cars and even sometimes their paint jobs dont come thru (its just plane colors)…

Please fix this or give us the option in Career mode… (Please)

Noted. I’ve always been a spreadsheet / data guru and I mainly do this for myself but it’s nice to see it’s useful for other people as well.
