Why can't we use the cars from the fast and furious pack and other cars in career mode?

Yeah there’s a bunch of cars that don’t have a division. Really sucks because one of my favorites (Lancia Stratos) does not have a division and thus I can’t use it in career mode :frowning:

This is why the entire “PI Restricitons” is total bull, and should not have been different to how FH2 does it. For example classic compacts only scales up to E-Class, but if you didn’t have any restricitons on it, you’d auotmatically be able to include the MK1 Escort, which would of been amazing.

Same thing with the Gurka but for the other way around, that is way below, but is undivisioned.

Funny though because if this was a PC game, it would be a simple thing to mod.

It’s a real shame these cars are left out :. Real shame. Not even having exlusive events for them either is also silly, would of been a lot more fun to add a “fast and furious” showcase series with these vehicles, how hard would that be to add in the future? I hope this doesn’t happen with future car packs, as your GT86 example is another silly oversight…

Yea the Lambo Urus is one, i thought it would be in the Juggernauts category but nope.

From my understanding, the cars in this game have a group assigned to them (ie - Rally Day Heroes, Extreme Heavyweights, etc.). The FnF cars do not have any group assigned to them, therefore, they cannot be used.

Even the Gurkha cannot be used in Sports Utility Juggernauts, and that car is below the PI limit.

Edit: Ninja’d.

Question for people farther into career mode than I. FM5 had some career sections that were only restricted on car class and not on body type. Are there no sections like that in FM6?

I was hoping for that, but no. I played all night hoping to open something like that when I completed the first 5 chapters, but nothing new opened up, except for all the races in the 5th section, and you can’t decrease the pi on the f&f cars so unless Turn 10 changes something, they won’t be usable in career.

Men that sucks… That was a HUGE draw in all the previous games. I loved the idea of fixing up classic cars and racing them against Ferraris and Lambos. I know I can still do it in Free play but Free Play really sucks in FM6 because its not against Drivatars and there are no paint jobs… :frowning:

I really hope they add this back in in a future DLC or something…

Been scratching my head as to why I can’t get drivatar liveries to work in free play. Ugh… Even if they sort this out and fix it, I have to say at this point they won’t ever see another dime from me. I love horizons too but from here on out I’ll only buy used copies period, whether they get their act together or not. We all know they won’t though. Microsoft needs to put a leash on these guys, it’s dragging their name through the mud as well.

Shame to hear about this. It could spell trouble if future DLC cars aren’t given a category either. Locking everything to the category system is pretty lame, especially with how poorly the categories are already set up.

That is really…freaking…scary. The only reasons–ONLY REASONS–I play Forza is for Rivals and SP (which includes painting, ForzaVista, and career). I don’t give two you-know-whats about MP, and if I can only use the DLC cars–cars I’ve already paid for, no less, since I bought the Ultimate Edition–in modes I don’t care about, then I’ll be right frustrated. I simply CAN NOT understand the logic of excluding cars from career mode. I cannot.

Care to comment, T10? I doubt it, but I’m asking anyway.

After reading through the new posts i see this as a bigger problem than just the movie cars.

What the heck is the point of giving/having a DLC if you can’t use the cars in singleplayer at all?

and the Stratos doesn’t have a division? it’s one of the most famous Lancias ever, and people can’t use it via career? I don’t normally say this, but T10 effed up.

Maybe they will patch something in to make them work, you never know with T10!!

I really hope so. The sheer number of cars you can not use is disturbing, I really really wish they just used the system from FH2 but a bit more loosened, that would mean I can literally use anything provided i could tune it up, orrrrr, the AI tunes down, to let me use my Mk1 Escort which i want to use all the time so much :(.

Ties in with how poorly implemented the free play is.

FM used to be so open with how you played and what you played with. FM6 is now so rigid, inflexible and prescriptive. You can’t have the same fun with the races as was possible in FM4.

I’m getting eerie flashbacks to what Gran Turismo was like and what made me turn away from it in the first place …

I sent Turn 10 an email at forzafb@microsoft.com. I politely typed the issue and several ways to fix it. Hopefully they don’t see it as one customer with a concern and ignore it. I think if some of you take a moment to send them an email there would be more of a chance for them to even consider doing something about it as it affects many players not just one. Of course from now on I will check that any dlc I buy is playable in career before I make the purchase. On a good note, this is the first time I don’t buy the season pass/the first 6 dlc packs, so if they are not usable in career I don’t have to buy them.

I noticed this also but hoped something opened up after beating the first 5 chapters, sucks to see that it does not. I really wanted to use the Vette in the pack as well as the Lambo Urus which like someone said also is not in a category. Also like people said it must be the category thing because I think its the 350Z (cant remember exactly) you can get the PI down but it will still not let you use it.

I hope they fix all of the issues but at the least give a showcase for fast and furious cars so there is a place to use them in career.

Wait, this game has a career mode? Could have fooled me, because what’s being passed off as such is a pathetic joke. It’s more so achievement racing than it is a career simulation/mode.

I agree though. That just blows you can’t use the fast and Furious cars. For those of us that don’t bother playing online, it’s pretty much pointless to have them.

EDIT: Someone mentioned a refund. Is that even possible anymore? I wish, because the honeymoon is over for me. I’ve had the game exactly one week today and the thrill is gone. Career mode stinks to high heaven and I’m bored of free play, which has it’s own issues to boot. I’ll never be a day one buyer of any Forza Motorsports release ever again.

Thanks for the info, I won’t waste any money on this if we can’t use them in career.

Being a loyal Forza fan since Forza 2 and spending hundreds of dollars buying every Limited Edition, Car Pack etc. and spending $120+ on this game it is a total disappointment. I like the game but they left a lot of stuff out such as the liters of the engines, the launch stat, etc. But I was willing to overlook that until I seen that there are no drag tracks in freemode? And the biggest disappointment is that you canT use these Fast & Furious cars in career mode? Like hello!, I was hoping to use them as much as possible in career mode to make it more interesting for me but no. Not including Doms Charger that I payed another $15 for just to get the car because I own the movie on DVD, and I bet we cant use that either!!!

On top of that quite a few of the cars that came with the game, like the late 70s Trans Am, Camaro, the Alpine Renault (I have to double-check that one), and atleast one Toyota, can’t be used in career either. I hope I don’t find too many others as I continue to play. It just doesn’t make sense. Hope it was an oversight and it gets fixed.

As disappointing as these issues among others can be the game is still among the best out right now so try to enjoy it. I’m still having a blast but I brought this up on the forum and emailed Turn 10 in hopes that it gets fixed as many of the cars that are not playable in career are among my favorites.
