Why are we forced to have cosmetic damage in online races?

I honestly don’t see why we are forced into cosmetic damage in online racing, just seems pointless, as far as I’m concerned if I have damage turned off in the settings then it should remain off.

Really? You cannot see why it is an option? Not too hard really. People want the look of realism without finding themselves unable to drive after a few minutes of hard play or not able to finish a race because someone was a jerk and kept using them as a brake in the corner.

Well I don’t need to see damage hence I have it turned off, but in online it has it on I still have no need to see the damage so if I have it turned off it should mean I don’t have to see it whether its online or not. My personal preference.

So long as my windscreen doesn’t smash I’m not bothered.

Well it can crack which can be distracting, most of time I use cockpit view and if windscreen cracks I switch to a outside car view.

i hate when my spoiler goes off

As a cockpitview driver I can say that the cosmetic damage gives advantages for those who do not use a cockpitcam. After I got rammed or got slammed into a corner which happen in most of the online races for some reason the window is broken and sight is bad. After a few decades using wheel and cockpitcam in all racing games I am overall slower with any cam located outside the car… so the rammers keep clear sight and I am …
I would prefer no cosmetic damage in online races
