Where is the Supra ?? Forza is crap if he has no Supra that my opinions!
ask Toyota
Toyota and Turn 10 couldn’t come to an agreement on licensing Toyota vehicles in Forza 7.
You’re annoying.
That’s my opinions.
Toyota does not want their street cars to be featured in any racing game that features tuning (Forza, The Crew 2, NFS…) since they want to change their image in order to become more attractive for young people.
I know it does not make any sense, but there is nothing T10 can do about it.
It really doesn’t make any sense. If they want to change their image to attract young people they are going about it the wrong way.
Sorry mate, no Toyota’s here. It is a shame, get over it and move on.
It was Toyota’s choice to withdraw from multiple games, nothing to do with any agreement/disagreement in negotiations.
The simple answer would suffice, and no need to get into arguments over it.
GTR and Supra fanboys are the worst thing to happen to the car scene that I can ever remember. That includes neon’s and ebay electric superchargers.
On another note I don’t get why Toyota is trying to avoid tuning when tuning is what most young car enthusiast are into.
The “fanboys” have simply moved back to newer “muscle resurgence” for the most part. Go to your local “cars and coffee” and tell me I’m wrong; yes the true die-hards are still present and always will be but “fanboys” are always into the latest and greatest. It is human nature for one to want that “unobtanium” whatever form or number of cylinders that may be.
Toyota jumped on the “tuning” bandwagon, it was called Scion, the TC and its successor the 86/BRZ have delivered much like the last Celica did; looks good sitting still. I do believe the 86/BRZ did manage to recapture the “spirit” of the original but once again its power plant leaves much desired. The Prius tires are great for “school yard heroics” but show all sorts of issues once you hit the back roads or weather hits. Have you looked at Automotive Market shares lately; we are the minority, not the majority.
Have you ever driven an 86/BRZ? Sure 200hp is not a lot anymore (any 6 cylinder minivan will beat it in a drag race), but the car is very reminiscent of the Miata. It has a low enough performance level that it can actually be fun to drive at legal speeds. Sure it is under powered if you are just doing track days or trying to drift it, but on an actual road being “under powered” really lets you rev the car out and actually use the gears. It is a much more engaging car to drive than something like the 500hp Euro coupes or American muscle cars where by the time you put your foot in it you are already breaking the law. The low grip tires also lets you flirt with the edge of grip while being at a reasonable speed, you could always put some high performance summer tires on it and the car would stick like crazy, but the stickier the tires the faster you need to be going to have fun. In a sports car the numbers don’t really matter, it is more about how well the car is balanced and how engaging it is to drive. A good sports car doesn’t necessarily need to be a high performance car. I can honestly say I would have more fun driving the 86/BRZ on a twisty back road than I would a M4 or Corvette.
No I don’t own a 86/BRZ but have driven several of them.
I agree that power is not everything; I even said they captured the spirit of the original. That said the mystique behind the 86 is largely based on a fictional character and an engine no “normal” man can get; it’s okay, sucked me in too. Yes, the original is still in fact one of “D.K.'s” favorite cars, more cool points, but that’s about it. They are great first RWD cars to learn on, that can’t be taken from them. That said, other than Drift what Motorsport series are they even contending in, why don’t we see “Kill” videos of them floating all over social media, why does everyone do an exotic swap in them, including the Drift people? If Toyota’s four cylinders were such hot tickets, why does the K series typically find a home in a Lotus? I know two totally different engines, still nothings changed. I have driven both Stock and lightly modded versions; again capable and a load of fun but so is a Z car with room to grow.
It is laughable that Toyota has done this. Hopefully by the time Forza 8 releases they have come to their senses.
