Where is everyone?

Last night I dropped into F4 for the first time. Previously I had only played Horizon online. Apparently within F4, you can drop with any car within multiplayer whereas, in Horizon I selected from my garage. Anyways, I was wondering what the most populated race types and lobbies were. Although I thought I did alright in my races, I was way outmatched driver level wise (some racers at nearly 170 vs. me at level 21). During the first race I had a chance at 2nd place but got bumped and crashed resulting in a 6th place finished. During the next, I was just off the back of the pack but misjudged a corner losing perhaps 6 or 7 more seconds and came in last. Where would you suggest I begin?

I don’t know what level I’m at, I think it’s like 120, but I run pretty much 6-7 seconds per lap off the lead car. Which sometimes makes it hard to finish in time at that pace. People are just fast. And I choose to run older cars mostly. Plus I don’t have any clue how to tune. I’m getting better at knowing my break points and such on different tracks. I think knowing the tracks well goes a long way. And then knowing how to drive the specific car your in on the track. I many times try to stay with one car for a while to get better and keep it simple.

The slower the car, the easier it is to drive. But make no mistake, even the slower classes have really fast guys racing in them. So it all just depends who is on and when. I think C and B are good to start. I don’t ever see people any lower than that, but I don’t go in to try much. I guess I should build up a few D and E cars for online racing, just to see. I would probably have fun. A is getting fast, but still not horrible. I’ve yet to race in S class.

If it were me, I’d start in C or B. Probably C. If you were in first place in a race, you were doing pretty good. Unless it was just you and some newb that doesn’t change his tire pressures and such. LOL. That’s the only way I get first place.

A class was always the most popular. Next was probably a close tie between B and S class. If your new to on line racing and not much of a tuner, then definitely start around C class. There’s also the stock lobby were there’s no tuning involved, you have to drive them as they are. That’s always fun. Don’t worry about the driver level. It only means they have played more than you, not that they necessarily are better. You can lose every race you ever do and still increase your level.

About that one (stock lobby), I’m always wondering how they change tire pressure for that. Or do they just not? Or do they do it to all cars? Because it seems like you’d have to have every car with a different tire pressure tune to load, which makes my brain hurt.

If your wanting racing where people don’t hit you off the track 24/7 I would suggest joining a series if you haven’t done so already

No, it’s totally stock settings. You can’t adjust anything. Key to doing well in that lobby is to drive the cars beforehand. Most cars in the game (but not all) are actually are pretty drivable stock once you understand them. Knowing what to expect is a big plus in the lobby.
