Wheel stopped working help!!..Son in major distress :(

Hey all i know this is the wrong place, but for my son who has issues, this is urgent. T’was his birthday yesterday and we bought him the Logitech G920 for combined birthday/christmas present, in readiness for Horizon 3. All was well yesterday until he stopped for tea, leaving everything lefton, On getting back on he has lost all resistance to the wheel. I have played around for 2 hrs this morning and have found thus: When xbox and wheel are switched on the wheel is fine. For some reason it now asks to sign in your profile and as soon as this is done all resistance has gone… If i then press the home/XBOX button the resistance is back, but when i back out resistance has gone again… Please help as this has ruined what was a great 13th birthday for my son :frowning:

I have a THrusmaster TX myself so I can’t really help on the G920 issue. But it seems a weird issue.

Try this first : power everything off, XBox and Wheel, remove the power plugs and the USB between both. Then first power up the XBox (sign in and everything), then power up the wheel, then connect the USB from the wheel to the XBox, then start the FH3 demo (or whatever game).

Try this also : do you have any other racing games on your XBox? Give it a try in another game too to narrow down the issue.

Try this last : Have you tried to update the firmware of the wheel yet? Or check that it’s the last version? If you have a PC to connect the wheel to you can most likely update the firmware. A fresh firmware often resets its internal system in case something might be hanging or acting weird. While the wheel is connected to the PC, see if it works there if you have any wheel supported games on your PC.

I updated the firmware on my TX and TH8A with my PC as well. Not sure anymore why I tried to do that last year, probably with the hope FFB became better in FM6. :stuck_out_tongue:

If you have Assetto Corsa (PC or XBox) that is hands down the best game to test wheel capability with.

Hope you will get it fixed and some G920 owners jump in to aid as well if they might see something familiar.

Friday’s Week in Review:

thankyou for your reply Breyzipp. I have followed your instruction and this is what i get : upon starting a game i get a message saying my sons profile is not paired to a gamepad. In order to continue playing, press the xbox button on the gamepad he wishes to play with, then choose his profile from the account picker using that gamepad. Obviously gamepad meaning wheel. I do this, and can navigate fine using the wheel, but there is no resistance in the wheel unless again i press the xbox button. If i check the devices and accessories on the xbox, nothing is listed. So in short, on the desktop it appears fine, but once i start any game all resistance is lost.

Thanks ManteoMax, but it looks like a wheel issue with all games. I’ve posted on here hoping that someone can help as he can’t play the FH3 Demo and get practiced for the game :frowning: . Same thing happens when it’s plugged into my xbox one too :frowning:

Amazon are sending out a new one for me

Edit: no they aren’t they haven’t got one, so just went to currys and got another…think it’s working…
