Hi all… I’m getting an issue with the game not recognising my G920. The G920 works fine on the Xbox home screen, but once I start up Forza 7 nothing works except the Xbox button to go back to home… if I use my controller to go to the settings there’s no options for the wheel. It’s almost like the game doesn’t know the wheel is there.
I’ve checked all connections and cables, and like I say, the wheel works fine on everything else.
Any help welcomed
Glad I’m not the only one having G920 issues, not sure if it’s an issue with the game or Xbox firmware, but considering all of my buttons on the wheel work in the xbox menus and home screen I feel like it’s the game. Anyway I found a work around for the time being
So pre-reqs, you need to use a controller and follow below instructions
- Start the game with wheel plugged in - Don’t press wheel buttons until later step
- Once the game loads to the “Push A” screen turn off the controller
- Press A on the wheel and the game/xbox should respond either by going to the main menu or asking you to log into your xbox account (If the latter, log in as usual)
- Turn controller back on
- Play
The downside to this work around is that you need to tap the controller every so often so it doesn’t turn off automatically, just tap the right joystick as if to move the camera
Hopefully this works for you buddy, I was able to play last night for a few hours doing this method, best plugging your controller into the xbox ideally that way it never turns itself off and you wont’ chew through batteries

Hey, have either of you guys had any joy with this, other than the workaround? I can’t get Forza 7 to recognise my G920 either but it works fine on Horizon 3 on the same xbox one x. Just wondering if there’s been any further developments. Cheers!
Also having this issue. Im on PC, worked fine yesterday, but having updated the firmware Forza doesn’t like it
All you have to do in order to get the wheel to recognize, simply when you load in use the wheel controls to go to home menu>sign in menu>switch profile> select your already signed in profile, and there ya go.
(make sure your using the wheel buttons to do so…if you use your controller at all when going to menu and navigating it wont work.)
Since my two threads were downright ignored, I’ll post here.
The D-pad of my G920 is not working on the decal (or vinyl) editor. For at least two months now I am not able to move, resize, etc… the decals I apply. I am forced to use my mouse and it is an absolute pain. Often I can’t really get the right size or placement due the fact that it nearly impossible to go from odd to even numbers and vice versa.
Any word on this?
