Wheel / Pedal Bindings Not Saving

Needs to be investigated. And admin needs to nut up and pay attention. Serious issue. G27 wheel, TH8A shift, Arduino Leonardo handbranke, and button box, all register, doens’t save.

If you click support on top then go to FH4, it will show that as a problem they are investigating. I just don’t like how they aren’t putting it on the forums. It’s like they are pushing it away.

Have you all checked if there are driver updates available for your USB devices? I see several firmware/driver updates published in the last 24 hours for many of the devices described above.

Not always is the latest driver the best.
Tried V312 from Fanatec with the demo and V314 with the released game.
No FFB at all with these versions in FH4. No problems in all other racing-games I own.
V311 is the latest driver with working FFB in FH4 from Fanatec.

I guess you can see how many people have the same problem and i dont believe that everybody need the latest update.
I dont see the purpose to update when other racing games can handle this and FH4 not.
So the problem is here obvious by FH4…
The devices are detected and the game recognize it correctly but FH4 do not save the axis bindings. Thats the problem.

Well, actually you’d be quite surprised how many people do not update their firmware OR software for that matter. And, as unfortunate as the situation is… Not all games/programs can support accessories. Just because it works for one game, doesn’t quite mean it’ll work for another. When updates are released, most times it will include support for something such as a wheel.

Now, you may be right… That the issue is being caused the FH4 itself. However, keep in mind that FH4 probably didn’t create the accessory you are trying to use with the game. So at the moment, there may be no real support for it. The support I am referencing, is the communication between the accessory you are trying to use and FH4 software. It will take time for FH4 to be able to support additional accessories to use in the game, which hopefully will be released via updates. But it is possible that the support is there (for FH4), however all that’s needed is a simple firware/driver update (for the accessory).

Hopefully this answers your “I don’t see the purpose to update when other racing games can handle this and FH4 not”. (:

but it all works in the demo

I think its obvious to most people this is a saving issue , everything is recognized it just wont save the bindings , I think most people expect what worked in the demo to be working in the actually full game .

Completely agree, this is very frustrating as many of us only bought the full game after seeing that the demo supported multiple devices. The controls can be bound quite happily in the settings, they are simply not saved when returning to the main game.

^^Exactly.

Same issue here with Thrustmaster T300RS + Fanatec clubsport pedal V1 + Thrustmaster TH8A gearbox … Everything is recognized on the wheel custom menu but everything is lost when you quit the menu. Everything worked fine on the demo, i don’t understand how is possible to release a game with such problems.

The problem is the game doesn’t support multiple USB devices even though the demo did.
It has nothing to do with drivers or anything, it’s something the devs need to fix.
It’s weird how there is no response from support on any of these threads complaining about this problem.
I sent a ticket or request about this to support on the 2nd and still no response.

But why does it work on my PC with two USB different devices connected? CSL Elite wheel USB3.0 (with pedals via wheel base) and second USB3.0 connected to the separate TH8A as analog brake?
It works for me but would like to understand why it seems for the majority it does not work (or the others who can use it do not report into here and only the users when it doesn’t work?)

It’s the Microsoft value added ! No choice play with pad and hope a fix/patch soon …

Same here key did not save on Thrustmaster T300 + Ferrari 599 Wheel+ TH8 shifter.

Having the same issue. Thrustmaster T300 wheel + Fanatec CSR Elite pedals connected to separate USB ports. Both devices recognized properly by the game, but the mappings assigned to accelerate and brake get cleared out after leaving the controls menu, despite being saved.

Same here, waiting for a fix. This should be corrected from day 1.

Also have the same issue. Thrustmaster T300 + fanatec csr elite pedals. Accelerator, brake, steering not saving on custom wheel controls. Waiting for a fix. Unable to play.

So is there going to be any investigation into this at all? Thankfully I was able to work around this by copying the settings from the demo as mentioned earlier, but still. Not being able to set wheel controls in a racing game means it is BROKEN. A lot of players that have paid good money for this game CAN NOT play it. You have basically taken their money, and given them a non-working product. That’s really what it boils down to. If it were a beta, that’d be understandable. But this is a full on release with broken CORE features. How this passed QA is beyond me.

Just knowing that this issue has at least been acknowledged by the developers would be nice. Right now, it seems like this is just being ignored. I’d highly recommend everyone submit a ticket to the support page linked in the sticky at the top of the forum. Maybe with enough of them coming in, it might trigger SOMETHING.
